David Beckham - In or Out
What's your take on young Mr Beckham and his international football future?
If you were England boss.....would he be in your team next month against Switzerland?
Would he have a future beyond that game in international football?
Would you discard him prior to his 100th cap?
Personally, I would keep him in the squad and, given Lampard's current injury, I would pick him against the Swiss, albeit I would pick him either in the centre of midfield or on the right of three men in the centre-ish of the game. I only still see Gerrard, Lampard and possibly Hargreaves as being better than him in those positions and try not to look at birth certificates in relation to selection.
You could say, "we need players for 2010 World Cup" however, as we've just seen, we have to qualify first so, whilst I perhaps don't see him as being viable in 2 and a half years, I still think he has a role to play in the next year or so.
Sentimental hogwash? You tell me.
I would never in a million years nail his wife though.

I'd definitely have him in my squad for February and is Terry going to be out? I'd maybe even consider giving him the captaincy. He'd obviously lead England out at least even if he isn't captain.
As for after the friendly, I don't think he'd be getting a starting position anymore but he's definitely still of great use to the squad. He's a great substitute to bring on with 30 minutes or so to go as still nobody in the England squad can play a ball like Beckham.
Also when I watched the Croatia game, was it just me or did half the players look like they didn't even care when they were losing and about to go out of the European Championships? Whilst Becks looked like he wanted the ball more than anyone on the park and was the most dangerous player with it.
Definitely still has a future with the English side, and whether Capello picks him at first or not, he's proven him wrong before and will do so again I reckons.
And finally, I'd still hit his wife.

Re: David Beckham - In or Out
Oh I'd hit her, just not have sex with her.
Personally, given how long they've been injured, I wouldn't pick either Lampard, Terry, Gary Nev or Michael Owen for the Swiss game. They all need to get fully fit for me first.
Becks would probably captain the team for this game, but not again after that.

Yeah, I'd want the captaincy going back to Terry or maybe even Gerrard after this game but I guess I'm sentimental and would like to see Becks captain them fo his 100th cap.
I could see Owen featuring at some point in the friendly but not the other 3.

I actually dont see Owen featuring much under Cappello, I think he will stick with Roney up front and he likes to play a big guy up ther ala Luca Toni, so maybe somebody like Dean Ashton will get a run in the team

I’d have him in the side. If anything he deserves his 100th cap, and this friendly is pretty much meaningless since England didn’t qualify for the European Championships this summer.
I don’t really get the notion of looking at a players age when selecting a side. If their playing well at the moment then put them in. Yes, it is important to have younger players for the future, but if a 45 year old Teddy Sheringham is scoring left right and centre, before a major championship, you’re going to pick him ahead of Theo Walcott who’d be selected because he is a bright young prospect.
Oh, and I'd totally have sex with Victoria (after our date in McDonalds)

Re: David Beckham - In or Out
I wouldn't flip Victoria ScagHag Beckham if David promised to transfer every penny he owned over to me. Tyler's not alone, it's just that like me, he seems to have taste.
