Newcastle have parted company with boss Sam Allardyce after just eight months.
The club, currently 11th in the Premier League, said the decision had been reached by "mutual agreement".
Allardyce, who was in charge for 24 games, said: "I am disappointed to be leaving Newcastle but I wish the club all the best for the future."
I really can't believe this. It's a very bad move by the club. If they are determined to seek long term success, then they need to be able to cope with short term failure. The way they are going they will never have a manager in charge long enough to oversee a successfull side.
They wanted Big Sam for a long time, and now he's just been hung out to dry when things have got tough. Alan Shearer would be well advised to stay the hell away from this job for the time being.
Well i think i need to retune my powers as i was only a few days out.
I'm not surprised he has gone and i'm just shocked it didn't come sooner.

Re: Allardyce leaves Newcastle
Newcastle are such a joke club. Still living in the past of ten years ago thinking every match should be a 4-3 win/loss and that no manager since Keegan "gets" what they want.
Keegan managed at a time when it was still possible to attract great players to clubs outside of Champions League and gain relatively instant success.
Now.... which "very decent" players are going to go to a club that has won nothing in my lifetime, has no hope of Champions League in the forseeable years and has gained a reputation that they will sack any manager that even brings you to the club within a season of you being there. How long did it take Alex Ferguson to win anything with Manchester United went he went there, and to turn around a big club? Five seasons?
They may have great fans, but the club have been run as a joke for years from the Chairmen downwards. They finally appointed a manager with a reputation for building a club, and what did they do? They gave him just over 20 games, let him spend over ÂŁ20million and then chucked him out. Shocking management. All under the excuse that, whilst the league position isn't a huge problem, and they're still in the FA Cup, they're not playing good enough football!! From a club that hasn't played this mythical level of Keegan-like football in a decade!
Lastly, no manager has a chance of succeeding there all the while Shearer is the man the fans want. As for the jokers on 5Live from Newcastle phoning up saying they want Jose? Bwahaahahahaha....nothing more deluded than Newcastle fans!! He wouldn't touch them with a barge pole.

Nice post Tyler, I agree with pretty much everything you said.
To even mention Jose is ridiculous. I also read somewhere Redknapp was being strongly linked with the job, I think he'd do well with Newcastle but I really hope he sticks with Portsmouth as he's doing such a fantastic job there. And Shearer should definitely stay away from them as his first managerial post as it could end his career before it's even really started.
A chance for McClaren to get back into club management perhaps?
