Liverpool will head off on their annual training camp to Switzerland next week on the back of a second successive pre-season victory as goals from Lee Peltier, Peter Crouch and Ray Putterill gave the Reds a comfortable 3-0 win at League One side Crewe.
Peltier and Crouch struck within a three minute spell in the first half while Putterill added a further goal after the break to seal an emphatic success at the Alexandra Stadium.

It is nice to see some of the youngsters getting in on the action, especially young Putteril, who if you haven't heard of him impressed in our FA Youth Cup winning side. Then there is Crouch still on the score sheet, I don't think he will be sold.

Goals from Emmanuel Adebayor and Nacer Barazite helped Arsenal to a comfortable 2-0 victory at Barnet on Saturday as Arsène Wenger’s side got their pre-season campaign underway.
The Emirates Stadium side controlled the game virtually from start to finish and were buoyed by goals in each half. Adebayor screwed home a shot in the 18th minute and Barazite completed the scoring just past the hour with a thunderbolt from distance.
Denilson was stretchered off in pain just before the goal but later his injury was reported to be minor.
Otherwise this was the most satisfying - and friendly - of friendlies.
Captain John Terry netted the winner as Chelsea kicked off their pre-season campaign in California with a 2-1 win over Mexican side Club America.
New signing Florent Malouda looked to have saved the day with his 74th minute equaliser after América had taken an early lead, but Terry, the only Chelsea man to have played 90 minutes, rose to nod home the winner with seven minutes remaining.

Well Florent Malouda is off to a flyer, would have been nice to see him playing in red but oh well, what's done is done, we have Benayoun To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 20 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

West Ham United secured a 2-0 victory over Football League new-boys Dagenham & Redbridge in their opening pre-season friendly of the summer, but it was the sight of Dean Ashton back in action again that really had Hammers fans celebrating.
The 23-year-old England striker - sidelined for the past 11 months with a broken ankle - played the full second half as Alan Curbishley's men kicked off their 2007-08 preparations, and came close to marking the occasion with a goal - hitting the bar with a powerful header in the 64th minute.
In the end, it was youngster Mark Noble who grabbed the goalscoring headlines, with an expertly-taken free-kick seven minutes from the end, before Dagenham defender Ross Smith headed a Luis Boa Morte corner into his own net moments later.

Well it is awesome to see Ashton back in action, I think that they really missed him last season when he suddenly gathered that injury, he is a class player and I have yet to see him play for England which he has the potential to do and always has.

As Bale and Kaboul pulled on the shirt for the first time, another of our new boys Darren Bent was paired up front again with Keane having both registered against Stevenage in our first friendly of the summer on Saturday. Didier Zokora appeared for the first time in pre-season alongside Danny Murphy in the centre of our midfield.
It seemed only a matter of time before the deadlock would be broken with Bent, Keane and Bale all calling Barry Ryan into action once more, while Anthony Murphy was forced to clear off the line on 35 minutes when Bent’s dummy from Murphy’s high pass into the box deceived the goalkeeper.
The breakthrough finally came three minutes before half-time, Murphy setting Keane away inside the box on the left before stroking the ball low into the opposite corner of the net to make it two goals in as many pre-season games at a venue that is just one mile away from his birthplace in Tallaght.

Some things never change, as per usual Robbie Keane is there on the goal sheet for them, but it is a total new look Spurs with Bent, Bale and Kaboul, but it looks to be a good new look for them so far.

The tackle on Denilson was awful. He was never going to get the ball and could have easily broken Denilson's ankle/leg.
Barazite scored a very good goal. He has been somewhat overlooked due to Vela and Merida but showed he has something about him.
Traroe had a brilliant game. Next season (08/09) i think he will be pushing Clichy really hard for the starting spot.
Good to see Van Persie back aswell. He hit the crossbar with a header but its understandable since he hasent played since April.
Fabianski looks a good prospect aswell. Not afraid to close down the stiker and is brave when collecting the ball. Minus one mistake he has a good debut.

Not a good start for Spurs. Irish teams are generally accepted as Bottom half championship/League 1 quality sides.
