My perseonel favourite was Marco Van Bastons volley in the European Championship Final against U.S.S.R in 1998, what an awesome strike in such a big game

Re: Goal! Goal! Goal! Goal!
I can't just pick one out. There are so many great ones, and at times it's the sort of goal that involves an incredible amount of teamwork (like Argentinas finished by Cambiaso in the last World Cup) and at times it's a technically superb piledriver (Di Canio for WHU against Wimbledon for example).
But you're always going to vote for something that actually meant something to you and was personal (as I'm sure God will!!), so I'm going to vote for Ian Wright's in the 1990 FA Cup Final.
To recap, he had been out with a broken leg since January that season. He tried a comeback in late March and, in his first game back, rebroke his leg.
He was declared fit again in the week of the Cup Final itself but (obviously) had not really played in over four months so was put on the bench for the final against Manchester United.
With just over an hour gone, and with Palace 2-1 down, Sir Steve of Coppell decided to bring on his "gamble". Two minutes passed and Wright had not touched the ball. Until....
Richard Shaw poked a ball out to Wright 35 yards from goal and moving away, he spun Mike Phelan beautifully and acceleted at top speed toward cutting into the box. Gary Pallister charged across to intercept, but Wright stopped dead in his tracks and worked the ball on to his right foot as Pallister slipped past him, whereupon Wrighty drilled the ball low in to the Man U goal.
The man was an absolute genius, and I will always love him, even though he is a complete dick!!
Thing is, I just can't separate all the great goals so I have to name a great one that has personal memories!!

My favourite goal isnt historic by any means on a grand scale. But because of Australia's accomplishment in getting tot he World Cup for the first time in 32 years...seeing John Aloisi slot through the penaly goal to get us there (live!) was the greatest goal i have ever seen.
Alongise Cahill's 2nd against Japan in our opening game.

For non personal reasons probably George Weahs for AC Milian {i forget who against}. Pretty much went the whole length of the field and calmly slotted it under the keeper.
Tony Yeboah against Wimbledon, Eric Cantona against Sunderland {boo}, any Roberto Carlos free kick from a distance of greater than 25 yards and all of Matthew Taylors goals from distance are all noteable additions.
As for personal goals, Ian Porterfield's against Leeds in the 73 cup final {i know i'm obviously too young to have been around but i have the dvd and for Sunderland to have beaten the mighty Leeds was quite something} and Gavin McCann's goal quite a few seasons ago in the FA Cup against i think Blackburn.

Just saw a very decent solo effort from Ronaldo for Man U against Fulham. A great run.
