Barry Ferguson has regained the Rangers captaincy 12 days after being stripped of the armband by now-departed manager Paul Le Guen.
There had been a question mark over the captaincy following reports of a rift between the Scotland midfielder and Rangers chairman David Murray.
But the 28-year-old is back in the position he held under new Rangers boss Walter Smith with Scotland.
Le Guen had claimed that Ferguson had undermined his managership.
But Smith told BBC Sport: "Before recent weeks, Barry was captain of Rangers and captain of Scotland and there were no question marks about him.
"He is the best captain at the club and that's why he is back as captain against Dundee United."
