Re: WC Official Poll: Who The Worst Prem Football Manager
I can but I don't like how you seem to be taking credit for this thread idea, it's clearly a rip off of the thread over in US Sports already made by Twist of lEMOn.

Re: WC Official Poll: Who is the Worst Premier League Manager?
I picked Paul Hart last time and the 7 games he lost in a row hasn't done him any wonders to changing my mind. People say that it wasn't his fault because of all of the changes that were out of his control but come on, it shouldn't take 7 games for a team to win a game with the players he has at his disposal. It should take a while to gel and play well but playing well and doing enough to win games isn't the same thing.
So again, Paul Hart.

Re: WC Official Poll: Who is the Worst Premier League Manager?
I dunno, Portsmouth aren't a great team on paper, and that really isn't his doing at all. He's obviously not proving himself as some heroically great manager by any means but I just feel a little harsh picking him lol.
I went with Big Sam instead. He's making a right mess of Rovers at present. They had a really strong team, and I thought Sam would have got them playing his style, ala Bolton, but instead they've ended up as a pretty abysmal team.
Plus, why oh why, did he continue to pick Samba upfront when McCarthy was fully fit (this was mostly at the end of last year). Why pick a centre back up top instead of a pretty good striker. Just in general, play Benni, Sam!

Re: WC Official Poll: Who is the Worst Premier League Manager?
When you look at the Portsmouth team it is certainly better than the position the club is in at the moment, it's not a great team becuase it does have gaps but the team that they have at Fratton Park certainly shouldn't be bottom or even in the relegation zone imo. It would help for them to secure the players they have on loan onto permanant deals.
Big Sam is getting back onto his feet and attempting to settle back down into a job after a rocky time at Newcastle. He was one of the most solid managers around in his time at Bolton and he's slowly converting it although with a few slip ups along the way ala Chelsea.
He continued to play Samba upfront because he was playing well in McCarthy's absence. It's what some managers do as a reward such as Mannone continuing in goal for Arsenal, even though Almunia is now fit and Fabianski who was supposedly the number two has been fit for most of Almunia's absence.

Re: WC Official Poll: Who is the Worst Premier League Manager?
Well that Mannone guy has been brilliant pretty much.
Samba did a decent job as a striker, if Rovers were desperate. But c'mon, Benni's a proven quality striker, and they continued to play a centre-back upfront instead of him? I'd be pretty fuming if Fergie had a striker shortage, and he stuck Rio up top. Rio scored a couple, so he kept him up there? Silly silly, if you ask me. Especially when they're short of centre-backs at the same time.
Rovers should be a comfortable mid-table side really, but they're looking like they're going to struggle not to be relegated this year if you ask me. Sam ftl

Re: WC Official Poll: Who is the Worst Premier League Manager?
Yeah but there's a huge difference there, Rio clearly has no scoring trates, it's a weird combo but striker is actually Samba's second position, some players for example play at right back and center back, some player center midfield and right midfield, he just happens to play center back or striker. As I said, he played well in his absence and with not a lot to play for towards the end of the season anyway, he just kept playing him.
Oh and in your Sam hate you forget that they were nearly relegated last season before Sam even came into the job, so...

Well he did mention that he saw a version of it in American sports in a round about way in his post.
