You can name more than one, just like to see your thoughts on the players you would have still liked to see in your colours.
I think mine would have to be Stilian Petrov, although we got a good 7 million for a player we bought for pennies we have struggled to replace him since leaving. He guaranteed us around 10 goals a season from midfield and I think Celtic have really missed that since 'Stan' left the club. Martin O'Neill changing him into a defensive midfielder at Villa was pretty surprising but Stilian has the quality to make that work and has done well since his move down south.

Maybe Guiseppe Rossi. He went for about £6m I believe, and is now worth a LOT more than that. We could have done with keeping him. Pique wanted to leave and wasn't getting in the team ahead of Rio or Vidic so, as great as he is, I don't think he qualifies here.

Forlan comes to mind for me, yes he was pretty awful for you most of the time, simply showing brilliance in glimpses but judging by his scoring pedigree ever since you let him go, he was just approaching his prime.
117 goals in 223 games since he left can't really be ignored.

He was my 2nd choice. I still think considering Rossi's age, and his own scoring record, he will turn out to be the biggest mistake.
Some people say we can buy him back for the same price we sold him but I highly doubt that is the case. I bet we have first option but nothing more. The fee would be substantial to say the least now.

That's what it is as far as I'm aware. United have first choice if he ever decides to leave/Villareal decide to sell. They definitely wouldn't get him back for £6m.

Same with me his comments this week about he got sold because of his boots were actually why I made the topic.
I think Pique will be a bigger mistake than Rossi judging by his performance at the Bernabeau last year he was simply phenomenal.

At the time it looked like it was for the best, Pires was declining and ageing while Rosicky was younger and on fire at the time. Had we known that Rosicky would spend more time injured than playing I think we would have been better off keeping Pires for a while longer.

I would say SWP was a bad sale at the time but he turned out to be a £12 million 3 year loan deal so thats not too bad, maybe we should have kept David James for another year or two, and maybe Corluka.
