That is just the really obvious choice though and because he is the vice captain it is just the logical choice so I thought I would go even past Carra just because he does captain matches when Gerrard isn't playing anyway.

My choice would be Mascherano, he is full of passion and captains his country but I would need to see full commitment from the lad, we don't know if him interested in going to Barca were true or not.

McManus probably shouldn't be our captain anyway but I would have Scott Brown or Boruc. Both are full of passion and I think the captaincy could mature both. I think putting the vice captaincy on Caldwell (only referring to when McManus ain't playing) has put added pressure that the guy cannot really handle, bit like at the end of his Hibs career.

Wayne Rooney. Yes he can be immature at times with some of his reactions, but he's not as hot headed as Keane, and nobody says he was a bad captain. Rooney's passion alone is a good reason I'd want to see him captain. He just represents the sort of attitude I like to see from Man United players, and he's good with the press too. He always says the right thing.
