A FURIOUS David Beckham tried to leap over an advertising boarding last night to confront his own team's jeering fans.
The former England captain had to be restrained by security after losing his temper with heckling LA Galaxy supporters.
Angry Becks then appeared to make a "come on" gesture to the baying soccer mob before allegedly swearing at a fan.
Beckham lost the plot after Galaxy's hardcore fans — nicknamed the LA Riot Squad — booed him every time he touched the ball.
Security staff were forced to restrain an angry fan who left his seat and rushed towards the footballer.
Beckham later played down the incident and said he had simply tried to shake the supporter's hand.
He told Sky Sports News after the game: "The majority of the fans have been great."
But he added: "[The boos are] to be expected. Sometimes it goes beyond it. I tried to shake one of the guy's hands but he didn't want any of it. That's the way it is."
Fans reacted with fury to Beckham's actions.
One alleged that the former Manchester United and Real Madrid star went on a foul-mouthed tirade and called a fan a "mother******".
He said: "He went up there and said 'Come on mother-effer' and called the guy out.
"He called out a drunk fan - how stupid is that?
"He's the player, he's the professional. He should have kept himself under control and he didn't.
"He's expecting a drunk fan to control himself over a player. He's stupid."
Another supporter who saw the incident said: "He started saying 'Come down here, come down here, come down here', so our guy went down there."
Becks received the less than friendly welcome at his first home game since returning from a five-month loan spell at AC Milan.
He had angered Galaxy fans by indicating he would rather stay in Milan than return to America, stating that the standard of play was far higher in Italy.
'Fraud'
The disgusted crowd held aloft signs including "Go Home Fraud" and "23: Repent" in reference to his shirt number - as he took on the Italian giants in the friendly match.
Other fans' held boards reading "Hey Becks, Here Before You, Here after You, Here Despite You" and "Is evil something u are...or something u do?"
After the referee blew for half time, a heated Beckham attempted to hurdle the advertising boarding into the stands.
He was held back as one man left his seat, jumped down on to the pitch and attempted to run towards him.
Security intervened and escorted the man from the Home Depot Center stadium and the irate star to the changing room.
Defiant Beckham later hugged several of his former AC Milan teammates before gesturing towards the rowdy section of the crowd.
And in the 65th minute he simply shrugged at fans after setting up a LA Galaxy goal.
He was substituted in the 75th minute and walked off to a mixture of cheers and boos. The match ended 2-2.
Can't have been worse than what he was getting after the World Cup in 1998.

I've seen it, and I'm quite surprised at Beckhams' reaction. He's had plenty of stick over the years, but he's never actually gone up to the fans and confronted them.
The media are however blowing this up a bit more than it actually is, because it was only a small section of the crowd who got on his back. Most applauded him when he got substituted. In his two games back for the Galaxy he's played extremely well.

It's Beckham and sadly it's what they always have done and always will do.
this is the Beckham I want to see. I remember when he was a cocky prick in the early days at United. Was awesome!
The great thing was after Beckham goaded the fan to come to the pitch he didn't retreat, he had to be held back from confronting him... most players would have run a mile if this happened to them.
Those Galaxy fans questioned his passion and loyalty... they got their answer there and then.
Jesus Christ. The guy is a roller coaster ride in Los Angeles. I don't even blame it on him for most part. The fans don't respect what he's trying to contribute. The fans just don't respect him or the aura of the sport.

How in the hell can LA fans cheer Manny Ramirez but boo David Beckham? ;_;
He deserves a lot better treatment than that, the last two games he's played very well and (I think) he's shown that he wants to be apart of the Galaxy.

Good points. The majority of the fans were cheering, and the "Riot Squad" are typically the drunkest fans in the arena most times. And he has played great these first few games.

Lets not get carried away. If something like this happened across the pond, it would come with death threats, alot more then one section raining down profanities, and much more. It has nothing to do with Americans not respecting the sport...although its funny thats what you jump too. Its far tamer then Milans fans reaction to Kaka's proposed move to City, for instance.

You shouldnt get carried away with this either.
I can honestly see Beckhams side of the story. He came to America too early, because everyone was telling him he was washed up, and no longer apart of Englands plans. Now that he is very much apart of those plans, I dont blame him for wanting to be back at a club like Milan if they'll have him. But from his near begging AC to buy him out prior to this year, its a far cry from him "wanting" to be a part of Galaxy.
That being said, the American media is not sharing this side of the story, and is only interested in making Beckham look like a quitter who now hates America and wipes his ass with Galaxy shirts. Thats the scumbag American media for you..
Its a shame too, because I bet Beckahm really wants MLS to be a part of his later years, once he finally is retired. Too bad after all this he might not come back to start the MLS franchise he supposed ly already has in place for him.
