The BBC will show 10 live Championship games during the 2009/10 season and has announced details of the first four.

The Ipswich versus Newcastle also takes place at 1730 BST, although the channel has yet to be confirmed.

Derby against QPR starts at 1730 BST but will be shown on BBC Two, while Cardiff versus Forest will be shown on BBC One, kick-off 1400 GMT.

These matches will also be streamed live on this website (for UK users only) and all the goals from every game in the Football League, Carling Cup and Johnstone's Paint Trophy will be shown on the BBC website in the UK.

Not a bad set of games selected there by the Beeb. Hopefully this goes well, and they can show more live game in the future. The Championship will certainly benefit from having more TV exposure to a wider audience. Hopefully people who only watch Premiership matches take in some Championship matches to see there is life outside of the top division.

Nice to see that BBC have some rights for ''Some'' live football so yar i will be watching.

I'm pleased too that more football is being shown on normal TV.

Its a crime that Sky can get away with so much football and not have it shared between the terestrial channels.

Well its up to the terestrial channels to put up their money for the coverage.

Until I read this earlier I had no idea BBC had the rights to any games. I wonder if this means ITV have lost there rights to the Championship. They only showed highlights mind you so hardly a big miss for them.
