This thread is about players for rival teams who you like, or at least respect, but you really think you shouldn't because of who they play for. You can't hate EVERYBODY who plays for one of your rivals...
I'd say Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard fit the bill for this. I never used to like Lampard but I don't know why other than the fact that he plays for Chelsea, because he's a great english player and seems quite a nice down to earth guy to boot. Pretty much the same reasons I like Gerrard.

Obviously, he's particularly good-looking, he's cool as, and he's just a great player, and a great goalscorer.
I've really liked him ever since Atletico, and always wanted to see United sign him. Then when he went to Liverpool I was a little disappointed but having got to see him play even more I think he's a fantastic player. Don't really have a problem with liking him but I guess due to who he plays for I should have.

Frank Lampard, defiantely, I hate Chelsea but I have nothing bad to say about lampard, he's a brilliant player.

To be honest, I don't really get into the whole rival thing. Maybe it's because I'm on the other side of the ocean and haven't been following soccer for too long, but the only team I really dislike is Chelsea, so I guess Frank Lampard would fit that bill. Liverpool is one of my favorite teams, despite United being my main favorite team, so Torres has always been a player I've admired begrudgingly or not.

Essien for me easily. I love how he plays and have always enjoyed seeing him on the pitch. He's basically the only reason I play as Chelsea in Fifa 09. His shots are pretty amazing too.
