You have to remember that twenty20 cricket is not the most skillfull form of cricket, a lot of it is just hit and hope and thats the reason the better teams dont always do well in it. As exciting as the new form of cricket is to the masses test cricket still is and always will be the place where the better cricketers shine.

Yeah, but the top teams also need to realise that 20/20 is becoming a legitimate form of competition, and that whole "It's not a skillful form of cricket" argument just can't be accepted anymore. You get paid to represent your country, and as world class athletes in their chosen field, they should be able to adapt to a form of cricket, just like test cricketers had to adapt at the insertion of World Series Cricket, this is another time to adapt. And it's not like the teams haven't had any time to learn how to swing hard, they should be able to swing a bat as hard as they can.

To be fair, the 'minnows' go into these sorts of competitions with no fear, but in the end, quality SHOULD shine through, which is why this is such a disaster for the Aussies. In the warm up match against Bangladesh, they hit 220 odd, and could've hit more.

England got well and truly hammered against South Africa. I wasn't following the match closely, but I could see it on one of the TVs in the bar I was at.
Quick question... in the super 8 stage of the tournament, does everyone play each other once, and then the top 4 teams go through to the semis?
