Does anyone here have any sports memorabilia, or souvenir collections?
I have quite a few collections going on. Firstly, and most importantly I collect match program's. I try and purchase a program for every match I go to. I also try and get programs from special events, like the 1999 Rugby World Cup Final in Cardiff, and FA Cup Finals from Cardiff. I have hundreds of match programs from football, rugby, ice hockey and cricket. Not sure what I'm going to do with them all when I run out of room, but maybe a few of them will be worth a bit of money in the future.
I also collect ticket stubs of all the matches I go to. I've got a big wad of them, which I plan on putting into a scrap book in the near future.
I have also acquired two signed rugby balls through charity auctions. One is from my local rugby team Cardiff RFC from 95, and the other is signed by the Grand Slam winning Wales team from 2005. Both are proudly displayed at home in me bedroom (sad I know!).
Only the normal stuff really, ticket stubs, programmes but my biggest thing is a framed set of cigarette cards of the 73 cup winning team which hangs on my wall
I have programs and tickets from every home rugby match at the JJB stadium I have been to.
That was my goal form my rugby side Cardiff when I was younger. But as I got older and got myself a season ticket, it turned out I'd fail in my quest, as the season ticket was a credit card type of ticket.
One other collection I'm thinking of starting is a pin badge collection. Collecting a club crest of every team I watch whatever the sport is.
I have the ticket stubs, a collection of match programmes and Celtic Views (our weekly magazine).
I have Murdo McLoed's Scotland top on my wall, and I have Ray Houghtons Ireland top on my wall...both framed. My uncle through marriage is Ray's brother so that's how I got both of them.
I have a champions League final from the one at Old Trafford I think it is, which is probably my favourite programme but I also have ones from like Celtic 1 - 0 Man Utd and Celtic 1 - 0 Barca which are probably worth a few bob.
Millwall programmes. Get one every home game, and have been getting every away one for the past 3 seasons, therefore, I have the complete set of programmes from the last 3seasons.
Oh i've also got a few scarfs, got one from when Juventus played Sunderland, its a half and half one and my coolest one is actually one my uncle got for me and is a real madrid one from when he went to see Arsenal vs Madrid in the champions league when henry scored the only goal.
In the PCA cricket book of 2007 I nearly have every Cricket players signature, I have people like Brian Lara, Shane Warne and Justin Langer's signature, I also have a West Ham scarf given to me and the usual caps and shirts of teams I follow. I used to collect every ticket to every cricket match I went to but I am a season Ticket holder now and it's a credit card thingy.
