To effectivley take Madrid out of the running....looks like Chelsea REALLY wants Kaka, and doesnt want to have a drawn out bidding war with Madrid. So they throw out a figure that they wont budge on, and if Real wants to bid over that amount...they can have him.

It will happen soon enough if not already. He is an amazing player defo one of the best in the world. Having Kaka and Ronaldo in the same team would be something special and the price Madrid pays for them will be very steep.

Chelsea have categorically denied making an audacious £73.5million offer for AC Milan playmaker Kaka.
Sky Sports News sources understand that the world record bid has been tabled in an attempt to bring the gifted Brazil international to Stamford Bridge.
The package is reported to include wages of £10million a year after tax, even more than Manchester City were prepared to offer during their failed swoop during the winter transfer window.
Carlo Ancelotti's appointment as Chelsea manager on Monday has only served to heighten suggestions that he could be prepared to raid his former club as aims to bring the UEFA Champions League trophy to the club.
But the Blues have moved to quash the fervent speculation that they were prepared to break the bank to ensure one of the finest players on the planet could be on his way to West London in the coming days.
This is getting ridiculous... Real signed him, oh no they didn't. Chelsea make a world record bid for him, oh wait no they didn't.

We should get Wenger to have a look down the back of the Couch and bid however much he can scrape together. Just to see what happens. To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 20 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

AC Milan chief executive Adriano Galliani has insisted playmaker Kaka will not be joining Chelsea.
It is believed Kaka is close to a £56m move to Real Madrid but reports claimed the Blues, coached by ex-Milan boss Carlo Ancelotti, made a late £73m bid.
Chelsea said reports of such a move for the Brazilian were "totally untrue".
"An agreement with Chelsea could not exist. Kaka goes to Real or he remains at Milan," Galliani told Italian newspaper Gazetta dello Sport:
"Negotiations with Real do exist but an agreement is not done."
A statement from Chelsea read: "We've never made an offer to AC Milan for Kaka.
People need to make up their minds tbh.

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has wasted little time in stepping up his Galactico policy after revealing he will 'work to bring Kaka and Cristiano Ronaldo' to the Bernabeu.
The Spanish giants are currently in negotiations to lure the former from AC Milan but Perez's admission with regards Ronaldo is likely to infuriate Sir Alex Ferguson and Old Trafford officials.
Speculation has suggested a deal could already be in place to take Ronaldo to the Spanish capital, but Perez concedes he knows nothing of any such arrangement.
He is, though, steadfast in his thinking that the Portuguese wide man is a player he will pursue throughout the summer, as he bids to restore Real to their former glories.
High praise
"Kaka, Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi are the best players in the world," Perez told Atena 3.
"I'm going to work to bring Kaka and Cristiano Ronaldo to Real Madrid.
"I've been here a few days and neither (former president, Vicente) Boluda nor anyone else has talked to me about this supposed agreement.
"What would be very good is to see these great players at Real Madrid this season. Cristiano would be one of these."
Perez looks to be close to making his first signing since returning as president, with Madrid on the verge of completing a world-record transfer deal for Kaka.
That's a pretty ridiculous aim tbf...
