On the move?

A look at the likely or possible high profile movers this summer. Valuations are the rumoured fees, or my estimation if not.

Cristiano Ronaldo

Club: Manchester United
Position: Winger/Forward
Age: 24
Value: £80million
Possible Destination(s): Real Madrid

Real Madrid's long term interest has been well-documented, and many believe that new chairman Florentino Perez may succeed where Calderon failed in landing the winger, who has reiterated his desire to remain at Old Trafford. A deal to sign Ronaldo for £80m is in place according to Perez.

Possibility of a move: Possible

Kaka

Club: AC Milan
Position: Attacking midfielder/Forward
Age: 27
Value: £60million+
Possible Destinations: Real Madrid, Chelsea, Manchester United

Kaka has been linked with a move away for a long time and is another one who is on Perez's wish list at Real Madrid. A huge name in football, Kaka fits the bill for Perez's desire to sign marketable players. May still remain in Milan, especially with the man who reccommended that the club sign him, Leonardo, appointed as Ancelotti's replacement, but a move is possible. An alternative to Madrid could be Ancelotti's Chelsea, who have the financial muscle to invest in such a player should they wish.

Possibility of a move: Possible

David Villa

Club: Valencia
Position: Striker
Age: 27
Value: £40million
Possible Destination(s): Real Madrid, Barcelona, Chelsea, Manchester United, Liverpool

Villa is arguably the world's best striker and undoubtedly Valencia's prize asset. With the club struggling financially, it has been reported that Villa, along with other valuable players, will have to be sold in order to secure the club's future. There will be no shortage of clubs interested in the 27 year old, who has expressed a desire to remain in Spain but could potentially be tempted to play in the Premiership.

Possibility of a move: Very likely

Frank Ribery

Club: Bayern Munich
Position: Winger
Age: 26
Value: £40-50million
Possible Destination(s): Barcelona, Real Madrid, Manchester United, Chelsea

The French winger has been linked with Europe's biggest clubs recently, with reported figures of up to £63million. He is unlikely to stay in the Bundesliga for another season, and any team would love to have him in their starting XI after his recent performances. Undoubtedly one of the best wingers in the world and will be looking to show his talents in a top league next season. He would be an ideal replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo should Real succeed in signing him.

Possibility of a move: Likely

Carlos Tevez

Club: Manchester United (Loan - Owned by MSI)
Position: Forward
Age: 25
Value: £22-32million
Possible Destinations: Liverpool, Manchester City, Inter, AC Milan

The battling Argentinian is loved by Manchester United fans for his work ethic, but looks set to leave the club as his two year loan deal from MSI expires this summer, and United have appeared unwilling to match Kia Joorabchian's asking price, which has been reported as anywhere between 22 and 32 million pounds. His style seems suited to the Premier League and he has said that he would like to remain in England, meaning Liverpool and Manchester City are likely destinations. City have the money to compete with anybody, while Liverpool are a team capable of challenging, and also boast Javier Mascherano, a teammate of Tevez for Argentina, and former teammate at West Ham, Corinthians and Boca Juniors. United have hinted they may still pay the money, but it is looking more likely that he will be playing elsewhere next season.

Possibility of a move: Likely

Karim Benzema

Club: Lyon
Position: Forward
Age: 21
Value: £25-30million
Possible Destination(s): Manchester United, Real Madrid

The French striker is highly rated and has long been linked with a move to a bigger club, most notably Manchester United. He has shown unlimited potential and has had another good season for Lyon, scoring 23 goals. Should United and Tevez part ways, Benzema is an obvious replacement. At just 21, he has time on his side to develop into a phenomenal footballer.

Possibility of a move: Likely

David Silva

Club: Valencia
Position: Attacking Midfielder/Winger
Age: 23
Value: £20-25million
Possible Destination(s): Liverpool, Manchester United, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Inter

Another Valencia asset who will probably be sold, Silva is a highly talented player who can operate both on the wings and as a more central attacking midfielder. He would be ideal for Liverpool and has been strongly linked with a move, but could also join any one of a host of European clubs who will be queueing up for his signature. At just 23, the reported fee of £20-25million seems good value.

Possibility of a move: Very likely

Zlatan Ibrahimovic

Club: Inter
Position: Forward
Age: 27
Value: £30m
Possible Destination(s): Barcelona, Chelsea

Not the most likely transfer of the summer, but the highly rated Swedish international forward has been linked with Barcelona in recent weeks and may be becoming tired of Inter's Champions League failings.

Possibility of a move: Possible

Diego Forlan

Club: Atletico Madrid
Position: Striker
Age: 30
Value: £20million
Possible Destination(s): Barcelona, Manchester City, Liverpool, Chelsea, Inter

After another hugely successful season in Spain, Forlan has again been linked with a move back to England, but has also expressed a desire to play with European Champions Barcelona. Plenty of clubs would take him, including rich Manchester City, should he decide to leave Atletico.

Possibility of a move: Possible

Xabi Alonso

Club: Liverpool
Position: Central Midfielder
Age: 27
Value: £25m
Possible Destination(s): Real Madrid, Arsenal

The Liverpool midfielder enjoyed another fine season at Anfield, but has once again been strongly linked with a move away. As well as reportedly being on Real Madrid's wishlist, the ex-Real Sociedad player has been the subject of comments from Cesc Fabregas, who has urged Arsenal to sign his Spain team mate. If he leaves, it will be a blow to Liverpool, as he is one of the most talented midfield players around, and was influential in their challenge for the Premier League title this year.

Possibility of a move: Likely

Gareth Barry

Club: Aston Villa
Position: Central/Right Midfielder
Age: 28
Value: £20million
Possible Destination(s): Liverpool, Manchester City

Should Alonso leave Anfield, Barry is the man who is expected to fill the void. Benitez went for him last summer and is widely tipped to do so again after another fine season with Villa which at one stage looked set to end with a Champions League place. Barry, unlike his Villa team mates, may well be playing in that competition next season.

Possibility of a move: Likely

Cesc Fabregas

Club: Arsenal
Position: Central Midfielder
Age: 22
Value: £30million
Possible Destination(s): Barcelona, Real Madrid

A long shot this one, but Fabregas' comments that he would love to play for Barcelona could be read as frustration at Arsenal's failure to win top honours, with the club going without a trophy since winning the FA Cup in 2005. Whether Barcelona would want to sign him is questionnable at best, as it is unclear where he would fit into their already star-studded midfield, but Real Madrid could be a more likely option, with the club set to spend huge money this summer.

Possibility of a move: Possible

Emmanuel Adebayor

Club: Arsenal
Position: Striker
Age: 25
Value: £20million
Possible Destination(s): AC Milan, Inter, Chelsea

Another Arsenal player who COULD be on the move this summer, the Togo international has been linked with top clubs in Italy, and even London rivals Chelsea as a replacement for Drogba (should he leave). He would command a fee of around £20million, and with Arsenal not short on strikers, they could sell.

Possibility of a move: Possible

Ashley Young

Club: Aston Villa
Position: Winger/Forward
Age: 23
Value: £25-30million
Possible Destination(s): Chelsea, Manchester United

Young is another Villa player who has enjoyed a great season. Young, English and extremely talented, he is everything a top Premier League club could want. Chelsea would be the most likely to bid for him, as they are in need of a top class winger, while United could be tempted to make a move should Ronaldo depart for Madrid.

Possibility of a move: Possible

Raul Albiol

Club: Valencia
Position: Central Defender
Age: 23
Value: £15-20m
Possible Destination(s): Real Madrid

Madrid have problems in defence, and Albiol is another highly talented Valencia star who could be asked to leave in order to raise money. Real have been linked with a staggering swoop for Villa, Silva, Albiol and Mata.

Possibility of a move: Likely

Michael Owen

Club: Newcastle United
Position: Striker
Age: 29
Value: £0
Possible Destination(s): Manchester City, Everton, Aston Villa, Tottenham

Not the biggest of transfers, but it will be interesting to see where the former Liverpool and Real Madrid striker ends up following Newcastle's relegation. He is available on a free, which may interest many clubs, but his injury troubles remain a problem.

Possibility of a move: Near certain

Re: On the move?

I'm bumping this.

So, the first 2 have both gone to Madrid (or as good as), and the 3rd on the list looks like he could join them.

Oh and Barry went of course.

Re: On the move?

Villa, Silva, Owen & Tevez are the ones on that list that im pretty certain will find new clubs by the end of the summer.

Dunno who is gonna wanna buy Owen though since the guy gets injured pretty much within a month of returning from a previous injury.

Re: On the move?

He's out of contract isnt he? Plently of clubs would be willing to take the chance on him. Even with all his injury problems he still managed 30 odd games last season and scored ten goals in all competitions. I think Everton would be a good fit for him, especially if they can get him on a pay as you play deal.

Or United.

Funny that most of these have gone now, but 2 of the ones who haven't, Villa and Silva, are the ones everybody was certain would leave, me included.

Re: On the move?

^ Its official they've both had press conferences, terrible business on Barca's part although Ibrahimovic is probably the worlds best footballer technically, Eto'o has a better goal record and is overall a better player. Buying Ibrah for 40 Million plus Eto'o and Hleb on season long loan is pretty damn shambolic.

Will Alonso just leave Liverpool!

Re: On the move?

Still only pre-season Tommy. Lets wait and see if he can continue this form against Premier League sides. If he can it would turn out to be a brilliant transfer.

Owen will score consistently. I can almost guarantee he will outscore Tevez.
