It was much more United being poor than Barca being brilliant.
You can't afford any team that much space and time on the ball, never mind Barca. United had an awful performance, more than Barca played spectacularly. They have some great players no doubt, but they didn't even have to show it tonight really.
Barca didn't even have that many clear cut chances. Definitely not a spectacular performance I'm seeing some people big it up as.
Barca were good at best. United were terrible. Simple.

Re: UEFA Champions League Champions 2009: Barcelona
And as for them keeping possession brilliantly? You watching the same game as me? It's not that hard when you're put under no pressure. United didn't even look like they wanted the ball.
Then anytime they got it, they kick it aimlessly at Puyol's corner from about 70 yards in sheer hope.
I'm not sure if that was Fergie's tactics going all wrong or United just being plain awful, but it doesn't show Barca to be particularly splendid.
I think Iniesta's a great player, but I see Tommy bigging him up as the best midfielder in the world suddenly? Based off one pretty good performance? Get back to me when he can score goals for fun and add a hatful of assists in like Stevie G can. kthx
P.S. I'm not saying Barca aren't a great team by the way, as Tommy seems to think I am, as, let's be honest, they clearly are. But they weren't in their top form tonight is my point, possibly because they didn't need to be. A team on top form could have stuck about 5 or 6 past a mediocre United side.
We still need a lot to work on to become the greatest team ever.

Did you not see how amazing Iniesta and Xavi were? Come on, give them some credit. I know we were pretty bad but Barcelona were amazing in the way they worked the ball. They didn't create many gilt edged chances but they certainly created chances. Their passing was great I thought.
Yes if the real United had shown up they would have had it a lot harder, but I think saying they were good at best is harsh in the extreme. Not many teams could have coped with Barca tonight.

CAMPEONÈS CAMPEÒNES OLÈ OLÈ OLÈÈÈÈÈ!!!
Just brilliant, brilliant. I'm so happy right about now. What we've achieved this season has been amazing.
PEP <3 <3 <3 <3 <3
The boys who performed for us throughout the season and tonight deserve this. They've done the hard yards, and now we reap the rewards. A truly historic night in Rome.

Carles Puyol = FC Barcelona.
What? A twat who's never been that great?

Re: UEFA Champions League Champions 2009: Barcelona
I said United were crap. I'm saying that's why Barca won to a large degree, and that they didn't even play that well.
I've seen Barca play far superior to that is my point. Not taking anything away from their win, I just don't see why people are clambering over their performance, mainly yourself and Tommy for some odd reason.
And Puyol was on the deck loads tonight, not Ronaldo.

Re: UEFA Champions League Champions 2009: Barcelona
He might not be the most technically gifted player, he's far from it, but he is the heart and soul of our club. He actually got a fair knock from VDS and Ronaldo was just a frustrated twat whom took it out on Puyol.
