Ellis Short To Take Over At Sunderland Within The Next Week
Its all going to happen next week.

From: Sunday Express Online
TEXAN millionaire Ellis Short will complete his buy-out of relegation-threatened Sunderland this week and promise the club’s new manager up to £200million to spend on transfers.
As Sunday Express Sport has revealed, boss Ricky Sbragia knows his days are numbered even if he guides the Black Cats to Premier League safety today against Chelsea.
Short, the major shareholder, has agreed a complete takeover with the Irish-based Drumaville Consortium.
Niall Quinn will remain as chairman, after forging a good relationship with Short, while Sbragia will have the chance to stay on as a coach.
But Short has made it clear he wants a high-profile boss to lead the club into a new cash-backed era.
Two names on the American’s wanted list, Louis van Gaal and Ronald Koeman, have landed jobs with Bayern Munich and AZ Alkmaar.
Another Dutchman, former Spurs boss Martin Jol, remains a target as does ex-England head coach Steve McClaren, who has seen his career revitalised in Holland with FC Twente.
The new man will be given a staggering £200m to spend to turn struggling Sunderland into a real Premier League force.
Confirmation of the buy-out and the bold plans are due to be announced. Even if Sunderland fall into the Championship it won’t affect Short’s ambitions.
Very pleased Niall will stay on and i hope all does go well today and we get all this.

Re: Ellis Short To Take Over At Sunderland Within The Next Week
I dunno, I'm not a fan of that at all.
I prefer a team to earn their success more than buy it. Obviously a bit of money's required but the way Chelsea were, and City will become is nothing but annoying imo.
The only thing that pleases me is, that when the owner leaves, these clubs are bound to be in disarray.

Re: Ellis Short To Take Over At Sunderland Within The Next Week
There are proposals being discussed to limit a clubs spending to their income rather than the funds they have avaiable. With something like 18 of the 20 Premier League clubs in debt, it seems only a matter of time before it is made official. If that happens Sunderland will be joining the long list of clubs in the "fucked" column thanks to spending so much.
