Manchester City chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak insists Mark Hughes will still be the club's manager next season.

Hughes' position as City boss has been the subject of speculation for several months since the Abu Dhabi United Group's takeover in the early weeks of the campaign.
The likes of Jose Mourinho and Frank Rijkaard have been linked with the post as City look to break the stranglehold of the 'big four' on the Premier League.
However, Hughes has now been reassured by the club's owners that his job is not under threat after City missed out on European qualification.
Al Mubarak confirmed the former Wales coach will not be replaced in the summer and is surprised by the constant rumours about his future.
Highest confidence
He told the Manchester Evening News: "I have been surprised at all the speculation because I have always been consistent with everyone on the subject of the manager.
"Every time I have spoken I have said we have the highest confidence in Mark and I would like to reiterate that now.
"Mark will be our manager next season; nothing has changed."
Al Mubarak added: "It has been a difficult season with all the rumours about Mark's future and the number of players we have been linked with.
"There has been incredible and unnecessary pressure put on Mark from outside the club. From my perspective, I think we have come a long way and I am looking for a big finish to the season.
"We have accomplished things since January and now we can start focusing on next season.
"This is a club that has had 10 managers in 15 years and changes of ownership. It is hard to believe we have ever had a real pre-season.
"This time we will have that and will do so with a year's experiences behind us and that will make us stronger. Next year is going to be better than this one. The club has a lot more stability."

Well whats the point in changing manager every year?
They will be no consitantcy and we will never improve. You have to give any manager more than one year, out of the first 11 only 3 of them were City players last season, so thats 8 new players(4 of which came in January) it takes time for a team to gel.

Because he's done a bad job and you need a big name to attract big players if you want to progress.

He hasnt done that bad of a job though, there been a lot of changes in his first year it takes time to put it all together.
Fergie wouldnt have lasted too long with that attitude.
Yeah but football has changed now. Its a new era for the club since the takeover and you need a manager who big players are going to want to play for. I would also add that Hughes has spent the money very badly.

If we are going with your logic there Tom, you would have sacked Sir Alex as he never set the heather on fire on his first season neither. Ironically, Mark Hughes has finished one place above what Ferguson did in his first season.

So who are these bad signings this season?
The olny bad signings I can think of on the top of my head are Ben Haim and Wayne Bridge, out of the amount of signings he made thats not to bad.
And yes football has changed now but the press and fans were all still calling for Fergie to be sacked 3 or 4 years into the Utd job never mind one season.
Plus Hughes actually is quite a big name in world football.
I think he's a very good manager and am actually glad the City chairman has the sense to keep some stability at the club and give Hughes a proper chance at bringing them success.
And in regards to Fergie, he spent a lot of money in his first few seasons as well, as United tried to bring themselves back to success, so really by your reckoning Tom he should have been fired lol.
