Roque Santa Cruz believes he has played his last game for Blackburn after telling the club he wants to leave in the summer.
Santa Cruz is currently recovering from minor knee surgery and he is doubtful that he will be ready to play before the end of the season – insisting: “I will wait for the knee to be perfect – no matter how long it takes.”
The £20 million-rated striker has previously been linked to Manchester United and Manchester City, and Santa Cruz insists there is no turning back – he is definitely leaving.
"I have already told them (Blackburn) and they know that before the transfer window closes I would like to continue my career at a bigger, more ambitious team," he told Radio Nanduti.
"Even though I haven't heard anything, I haven't changed my mind.
"I think it will be very difficult for me to play again this season because of the recovery. Our last league match is on May 24 and I also need a couple of days for my knee to physically recover.
"The recovery time is between four and six weeks and I will not hurry. The most important thing is to play without any problems.
"I will wait for my knee to be perfect, no matter how long it takes."
Hurry Rafa... go now, NOW!

Well Liverpool clearly need a new striker and Rafa would only have to go as far as Blackburn and not to the airport.
City have money yes, but Liverpool are now going to finish 3rd in the league at the least and that is a stretch, it looks like 2nd. Automatic Champions League trumps possible UEFA cup.

Meh. Just realised he's not good enough. If you sign him he'll be like all your other strikers over the past few years bar Torres. Good, sure. Good enough to win a title? Nope.
