Five players have been charged by the Football Association for breaching betting rules, with some accused of gambling thousands of pounds.
Four players then at Accrington - Jay Harris, David Mannix, Robert Williams and Peter Cavanagh - and Andrew Mangan, who was at Bury, have been charged.
The five have been charged with betting on a victory for Accrington's last game of last season at home to Bury.
All five face serious sanctions including the chance of suspensions.
Both Harris and Cavanagh played in the game which ended 2-0 to Bury.
Some bookmakers stopped taking bets on the League Two match after noticing unusual betting activity.
"All five are alleged to have placed bets on Bury to win this match," said an FA statement.
"Mannix is alleged to have placed stakes to the value of approximately £4,000; Mangan £3,500; Harris £2,000; Williams £1,000; and Cavanagh on a £5 accumulator."
Harris, who now plays for Chester City, has also been charged on betting on a game involving his new club and another two League Two fixtures.
Cavanagh has also been charged with betting on another Accrington Stanley matches in which he played and on a number of other League Two matches.
Under FA rules, players, managers or coaching staff are prohibited from betting on the result or progress of any match or competition in which the participant is participating or has any direct or indirect influence.
All five have until 23 April to respond to the charges.
Another former Accrington player, Leighton McGivern, recently denied an FA charge which was levelled in relation to his alleged failure to provide the FA with information requested during the investigation.
I find it funny that the team they all bet on lost anyway. To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 20 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

I find it funny that they are trying to sanction someone for a £5 accumulator. To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 20 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.
Apparently I missed the part where it said it was alledged they bet on Bury... which is why I quoted that part a little bit up, I took that as they bet on AS.
