John Terry struck late on to secure victory for England over Ukraine and maintain their 100% record in their World Cup 2010 qualifying campaign.

Peter Crouch put England ahead with an acrobatic volley after Terry had headed back across goal from a corner.

Ukraine substitute Andriy Shevchenko smashed home an equaliser after Glen Johnson failed to clear a free-kick.

But England sealed three points when Steven Gerrard nodded down for Terry to tuck the ball in from six yards.

Ross McCormack and Steven Fletcher scored their first Scotland goals to set up a vital World Cup qualifying win over Iceland at Hampden.

A fabulous run from Alan Hutton set up McCormack to slam a shot into the roof of the net shortly before half time.

Indridi Sigurdsson levelled when he reacted quickest to a shot against the woodwork from Palmi Palmason.

Fletcher restored the lead with a close range header and the Scots survived some late pressure for a tense triumph.

Northern Ireland remain top of their World Cup qualifying group thanks to Warren Feeney's winner at Windsor Park.

Slovenia were in control in the first half with Miso Brecko and Milivoje Novakovic going close for the visitors.

The home side improved after the break but Slovenia remained dangerous and Robert Koren struck the crossbar.

Feeney scored the only goal on 73 minutes with a glancing header into the bottom corner while Novakovic sliced over a late chance.

Wales suffered another World Cup qualifying loss in Cardiff but showed against Germany on Wednesday night that there is still cause for optimism.

A 30-yard strike from Michael Ballack and an own-goal by Ashley Williams gave Group Four leaders Germany another win.

But Wales were controversially denied a penalty when Serdar Tasci handled as he slipped in front of Joe Ledley.

Rob Earnshaw relished the senior Wales striker role in Craig Bellamy's injury absence, while Aaron Ramsey also shone.
A poor performance to be fair but result comes before perfomance and that is now 5 in 5.

Good game and we actually looked like the better team surprisingly. Subbing Lennon for Beckham was pretty retarded though. Rooney looked better in an England shirt than he has in fucking ages.

I don't agree on the Lennon point, I don't think he was particularly impressive tonight, his first touch was too heavy everytime.

Yeah but it was an attempt to improve play because Lennon wasn't playing that well, it wasn't to be known Beckham would be worse.

Well I'm not trying to play it off as a fact, I felt that he wasn't particularly impressive, but that is simply my opinion, nothing more.

They really shouldn't have let Shevchenko score... he will now have a little satisfaction after his Chelsea flop, we shouldn't have let him get that dammit.

I think it would have been a close second if Voronin would have scored to be honest.

In all honesty though, Ukraine shouldn't have been allowed to score at all, nevermind not wanting certain players to score.

Lennon was the same as always. He looked lively and dangerous but his final ball was suspect at times and also he doesn't try to beat players as much as he should considering his pace.

Beckham coming on was good because of his set pieces, and I thought he was decent, but he shouldn't have been introduced that early.

Ashley Cole had a bad game.

Overall I thought he were ok. Its a results business and we got there in the end. Although we didn't create too much, I felt Ukraine were extremely lucky to get back into it considering we dominated and they hardly had any shots.
