Premier League all time top goal scorer
Now as I was just looking through some stats of the Premiership I stumbled along the all time top goal scorers chart and yes I did know that Alan Shearer was the holder of the accolade but I had no idea that everyone was so far behind him and that every player even remotely close to him is not a current premiership player. That is except for Michael Owen and Dwight Yorke but I can not see Owen getting another 116 Premier league goals before he retires and Yorke does not even play as a striker anymore or regularly for that matter.

Shearer's record is 260 goals, do you see anyone surpassing it in even close to the near future?

In the near future, no. I never knew he was that far ahead either. Owen won't get anywhere near that amount, and I don't see anyone else who could.

Well a certain Mr. Henry had the best chance to try and take it but he had to go and leave not just Arsenal but the Premiership all together. Had he not left when he did I think he could have gotten another 86 Premier league goals before he retires relatively easily.

But the ridiculous figure of last year was probably a one-off.

How many does Rooney have in total in the Prem? I know he's not too prolific compared to others but I can't see him ever leaving United and he's got time on his side at 22-23. He could have a chance...

Torres has 9 in the Prem, 11 in total, but a hell of a lot less games.
