Arsenal have been boosted by the return of captain Cesc Fabregas to training after a serious knee injury.

The midfielder has been out of action since rupturing knee ligaments against Liverpool in December.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger confirmed that the 21-year-old had joined in with training but is still some weeks away from a return to first-team action.

"It is the first time training for Cesc," said Wenger. "He is physically fit, but he needs a few sessions."

The Spaniard suffered the injury going for a 50-50 challenge with Xabi Alonso in Arsenal's 1-1 draw with Liverpool at the Emirates on 21 December 2008.

In Fabregas' absence, the Gunners have struggled at times this season as Wenger opted to resist the temptation to recruit another central midfielder in the January transfer window and instead kept faith with inexperienced youngsters such as Denilson and Alexander Song.

Oh look, some GOOD news surrounding Fabregas.

I see this as a very timely return and for Arsenal's sake I hope he continues the form he had before the injury at a time like this.

We will be a completly different team in about a months time as Fabregas will be back a few games aswell as Adebayor and Eduardo, maybe even Rosicky too (Ok, even i dont believe that last one)

He's going to be like a new signing for us he's been out that long. I also forgot about Silvestre in my other post. He's going to ensure we never concede a goal again

It will be nice to see Fabregas back in the side. Not really expecting Rosicky back, to be honest.

Rosicky? I'd imagine so. He's still a quality player who can play anywhere in midfield. Just think we could play

Walcott - Fabregas - Rosicky - Arshavin/Vela

--------Nasri/van Persie

--------------Adebayor/Eduardo/Bendtner

With everyone fit we have plently of options going forward so while he wouldnt be an automatic start, he'd still play a fair amount of games.

I know he's a quality player but this season you signed to two quality midfielders and have Walcott coming through.

Your explanation seems probable but he wont be getting into the squad as easy as he was before.
