Liverpool revived their ambitions of claiming the Premier League title in remarkable fashion as they humiliated champions Manchester United at Old Trafford.
Sir Alex Ferguson's side looked on course to stretch their advantage at the top of the table when Cristiano Ronaldo's penalty gave them an early lead after Liverpool keeper Pepe Reina fouled Ji-Sung Park.
But Fernando Torres hounded Nemanja Vidic into a mistake eight minutes later and raced through to coolly beat Edwin van der Sar.
And the transformation was complete a minute before the interval when Steven Gerrard scored from the spot after he had been upended by Patrice Evra.
United's day of misery was summed up 15 minutes from time when Vidic, who had a nightmare afternoon at the hands of Torres, was sent off for fouling Gerrard and Fabio Aurelio brilliantly curled home the resulting free-kick from 25 yards.
The torment for United stretching into stoppage time when Liverpool substitute Andrea Dossena lobbed a composed finish over Van der Sar after being allowed to race unchallenged on to Reina's goal-kick.
Andrey Arshavin scored a superb solo goal to open his Arsenal account as Blackburn were completely outclassed.
The Russian was involved in the opening goal when he pressured Andre Ooijer into putting through his own net.
Samir Nasri's free-kick hit the bar and Arsenal missed a host of chances before Arshavin made it 2-0 when he dummied Danny Simpson and smashed the ball in.
Substitute Emmanuel Eboue then scored two late goals, first tapping in a rebound and then converting a penalty.
Arsenal had failed to score in their last three Premier League games at The Emirates, but it took them only 75 seconds against Rovers to end that barren run.
Everton survived a brave fightback from Stoke to record a hard-fought win on the eve of David Moyes's seventh anniversary as boss at Goodison Park.
Fulham recorded a first league away win of the season as goals from Andy Johnson, Simon Davies and Diomansy Kamara crushed a disappointing Bolton.
Marlon King snatched a potentially priceless injury-time equaliser for 10-man Middlesbrough in their bottom-of-the-table showdown with Portsmouth.
Wigan took advantage of a poor Sunderland display to earn a victory at the Stadium of Light.
Premier League strugglers Hull and Newcastle shared the points after a nervy encounter at the KC Stadium.
Well there is already a thread for the game I want to talk about so let us talk about the Arsenal demolition.
Arshavin is showing how well he played in Euro 2008.

I always knew he would be a good addition though. Arsenal may be damn good next year with Eduardo fit for the whole season (possibly), Arshavin settled, Nasri having completed his first season, Walcott a year older and more experienced, and the squad probably improved over the summer. Wenger needs a good holding midfielder most. They are fine in attacking midfield and up front.
Why the fuck did he let Diarra go?

Nobody seems to want Diarra to be honest, maybe he is bad to be around or something because first Chelsea, Arsenal, then Portsmouth. I wont count him going to Madrid because Pompey clearly did everything to try to keep hold of him.

Wenger wanted to keep Diarra. But with Flamini being in great form he wasent getting a game, in the end he was too impatient and demanded a move after only six months.

After finally breaking into the team you had to assume he was going to stay. In hindsight he probably wishes he did, last i heard he spends his time watching from the bench.

Things are looking better for Arsenal, it seemed as though all was lost a couple weeks ago. Great result for Liverpool, they didn't show the game in the states, so when I checked my soccer website and saw a 4-1 result, I had to look a couple times to make sure I was looking at the right game.
