Ipswich Town have signed 19-year-old Tottenham striker Giovani dos Santos on loan until the end of the season.

The Mexican goes straight into the squad for the Championship encounter at Reading on Saturday.

Dos Santos joined Spurs from Barcelona for £4m last summer after making 28 appearances for the Spanish giants.

He has made 12 appearances for Tottenham this season, scoring once in last month's Uefa Cup victory against Shakthar Donetsk.
All I can think is that Harry wants him to get some experience at a lower level but surely he is way to good for Ipswich??

He's done nothing tbh. I'll be pretty surprised if he isn't away from Spurs this summer.

I liked him at Barca, but he's not justified the hype he was getting in La Liga.

He hasn't lived up I do agree with that but he is still very young, he has plenty of time.

I still hold the opinion that he is too good for Ipswich.

Hrmm, I dunno. They aren't that far off the playoffs, and he may as well go to a team that he's guaranteed first team football at for the rest of the season.

Seems like a sensible enough move, if slightly strange.

What a signing for Ipswich!

He hasn't done it at Tottenham because he hasn't had many chances to do so lets face it, I watched him when he was 16 playing for Mexico and he won player of the tournament in the U-16 World Cup. He was top class. I would have took him on loan at Celtic to be honest.

He's played 12 times and only scored once. He has had chances, but he has done nothing to earn more chances hence why he is gone to Ipswich. He was a really good player in Spain, but he hasent been able to reproduce anywhere near it in England. Reminicent of Reyes imo.

He is a 19 year old Mexican who has just moved to England from Spain and giving him 12 games mostly subs is definitely not giving him time. There has been lots of players who are young and haven't got off to the best start and turned it round.

Mascherano wasn't a big success at West Ham coming from Argentina but is awesome for Liverpool.
