After yet another incident involving English fans in Rome last night, with an Arsenal fan reportedly stabbed, I have to ask, could UEFA have picked a worse venue for the final this year? The stadium isn't good enough to stage a major European final anyway, the security is usually awful, and there are bound to be some of the Roma ''ultras'' hanging around even though their team isn't good enough to get there, especially if (when) an English team reaches the final. I think it was a terrible decision on UEFA's part. It should be an honour and a privelege to stage a final, and surely the behaviour of Roma fans should have surrendered that privelege for the eternal city. The ground should be banned from holding European finals imo. Jeez, imagine if Roma had got there.

I'm guessing one of the big reasons why they picked it is because all of the "history" that is behind the city. Yeah, I agree that it shouldn't be a Rome either, they are a bunch of barbarians as this type of thing happens every year when something is held there. Yet again, if you want to look at both sides of the coin, an englishman might have got in the face of one of the Romanian fans which could have sparked it, but even then it's no reason to stab someone.

But it doesn't happen anywhere else. There are never problems with English fans elsewhere nowadays, but there ALWAYS is in Rome.

Pretty sure it was Roma that had to host a Champions League Group Stage match against Real Madrid a few years ago where they had to have an empty stadium because of an incident...

An Englishman didn't get in the face of any Roma fan, the Roma fans broke onto their coach after smashing all the windows with stones and then started attackin the people inside.

All this just sums it up though really doesn't it?
Stabbings, shooting and general violence is what surrounds Roma. They should not be allowed to host the Champions League final. I personally don't agree with Tom in the sense of the stadium not being good enough because I think that it is plenty good enough, my opinion simply lies on the fact that they don't deserve to host it.

I believe it gets rotated around Europe, it's just their turn.
Yeah but I am saying, why should they get it when the stadium has such a terrible track record for violence? They should have sacrificed their right to be considered.
