Obviously this question deals predominantly with players from other teams, probably rivals to your own team. Are there ever players you want to hate because they play for your rivals and have a certain annoying quality about them, but something just stops you from hating them? Maybe their brilliance makes them a joy to watch and thats enough for you to like them, or at least appreciate their skill.
For me, Henry was always somebody I wanted to hate. His arrogance, the fact that he did so well for a club I hate, including many goals against us. However, he was just too good, and in interviews he seemed a decent guy and a great character to have in the game. His presence was highly beneficial to the Premiership and I enjoyed watching him play and score so many memorable goals, so I just couldn't hate the guy.
A current example would be Steven Gerrard. I imagine most United fans despise him, but I can't help but appreciate his talents and, despite the assault incident, he seems like a decent guy in interviews too, or at least comes across that way.
As for managers, Mourinho said some terrible things and played some terrible football, as well as being one of the most arrogant individuals in the history of football, but he was so charismatic and entertaining that he really brought something to the English game, and I wouldn't mind seeing him back eventually. There are so many memorable quotes from him, and the ones about Wenger obviously raised my opinion of him lol.
Yours?

I wanted to hate Jose Mourinho, because his team used diving antics to beat us in the Uefa Cup final...but his time at Chelsea I just grew to love his way and kind of think the premiership has been worse off without him this season.
I think Mourinho will be the winner for most of us in this. Despite everything he had going against him, you just couldnt help but like him. Steve Bruce is the only other one that comes to mind right now due to his former alliance with the devil himself but i quite like him as a manager.
