Sky Sports News sources understand Portsmouth manager Tony Adams is expected to be sacked on Monday morning.
Adams has endured a difficult start to Premier League management after stepping up to the top job at Fratton Park in October following Harry Redknapp's departure to Tottenham Hotspur.
The former Arsenal captain has presided over a run of nine league games without a win which has left Pompey just a point outside the relegation zone.
He also oversaw the holders' 2-0 home humbling by Swansea City in the FA Cup fourth round last month and there has been intense speculation about his future in recent weeks.
Only last Monday, executive chairman Peter Storrie issued a statement to confirm Adams retained the board's support and called on the club to 'pull together'.
And on Friday, Pompey again dismissed speculation about Adams' future after former Charlton and West Ham boss Alan Curbishley was linked with the role.
However, it is now understood that Adams will be dismissed on Monday following the 3-2 defeat at home by title challengers Liverpool at the weekend.
Though Pompey are out of the FA Cup, the club are in action on Saturday 14th February as Manchester City visit Fratton Park in a rearranged game.
According to Sky Sports News he has been already sacked.
Not surprising at all. I agree with what Portsmouth fans were saying on MOTD2 in that he has been given a very difficult job to do, but he still did badly and deserves to go.

Sky Sports News revealed on Sunday night that Adams was set to be axed from his post after a run of nine games without a win which left the club just a point above the relegation zone.
And the Fratton Park outfit have now released a statement on Adams' exit, with first-team coach John Metgod also shown the door.
Director of youth operations Paul Hart will take over as caretaker manager until a permanent successor can be found.
"This has been a very difficult decision and Tony has worked tirelessly to arrest the slump in form," a club spokesman told the club's official website.
Priority
"He is rightfully highly-respected within the football world and played a major role in our FA Cup triumph last season. We would like to thank him and John and wish them well in the future.
"The owner and the board feel they have been as supportive as they can during a period where results have been poor. The team has played well but too many points have been dropped from winning positions.
"Notwithstanding the adverse economic conditions the board remains committed to the continued growth and development of the club for the future, building on its achievements of the last three years.
"The priority is for Portsmouth football club to remain in the top flight and we feel the appointment of a new manager will give us the best opportunity to enable us to do this.
"Paul Hart knows the football club, having joined us nearly two years ago, and is a respected coach with managerial experience."
Final straw
Former Arsenal and England captain Adams had only been in charge on the South Coast since late October when he was named caretaker manager following the departure of Harry Redknapp to Tottenham.
However, a run of just two wins in 16 league games has seen the club slide down the table, with Saturday's last-gasp 3-2 home defeat by title-chasing Liverpool deemed to be the final straw.
Pompey were also knocked out of the FA Cup in the fourth round after a 2-0 home defeat to Coca-Cola Championship side Swansea, ending their defence of the trophy they lifted in May last year.

This boils down to the market we are in today, A club like Portsmouth cannot afford to get relegated and the way Adams was going with the club it looked like they could be relegated. Personally, I don't think he was right for the job but it is harsh once appointed to sack someone after less than 100 days.
Also in the transfer window £30 million worth of players were took off him behind is back and he was given nothing to spend so he go some loan deals and players on the cheap and then gets one game(against a top team) after the window, the team were actually playing well just silly individual errors costing the team.
People always make comparisons to years ago. It's not the same game.
But you cant call him a bad manager after that, and of course you can make comparisoons it shows that if you give a manager some time theres a good chance he will get it right. Also even in those days a lot of managers never got sacked too soon.

Alright lets just keep him in charge and get relegated no matter how badly he does. Maybe in 10 years he'll be good.

He hasnt even been given a chance though, he has had one week with his new players, if they didnt think he could do the job they shouldnt have appointed him in the first place.
