Stoke City have completed the signing of Birmingham defender Stephen Kelly on loan until the end of the season.

A deal to sign the 25-year-old on loan for the rest of the season was agreed before Monday's transfer deadline.

However the Republic of Ireland international could not travel to the Britannia Stadium because of the snow.

Kelly played every minute in the Premier League last season but has been restricted to just seven appearances this season because of a thigh injury.

Kelly started his career at Tottenham and made 36 starts for Spurs, before joining Birmingham for £750,000 in June 2006.
2 days after the window lol? I thought the dispension would just be 1 day.

Good signing though especially for Stoke.

I think it was if the deal was already agreed and they couldn't get it done because of extreme weather conditions they were making exceptions but if paperwork was delivered to the FA that the deal was finalised.

Its a decent signing for Stoke I have kind of lost track of his career since his move from Spurs.

Yes but I would have thought that it would have been 1 day and no more, even with snow surely he could get from Birmingham to Stoke, living in Stoke myself I know it's not far.
