Olympiakos have confirmed they have agreed a deal to sign Blackburn striker Matt Derbyshire.
As revealed by skysports.com Olympiakos have lined up a shock move to sign the England Under 21 international on loan until the end of the season.
Blackburn have allowed Derbyshire to go out on loan with Roque Santa Cruz, Benni McCarthy and Jason Roberts all ahead of him in the pecking order.
Derbyshire has travelled to Greece to undergo a medical before tying up the formalities of the move to Athens.
Olympiakos have confirmed the move on their offical website with a statement revealing they have no option to buy Derbyshire at the end of the loan spell.
"Matt is expected in Athens tomorrow for his medical and to sign the contract but the deal has been agreed, he will be joining us for six months," a club spokesman said."
Hrmk, I understand he fallen down the pecking order... but Greece?

I think it's a great move for him. The chance to play Champions League football, experiancing a new culture and country, change of lifestyle. He'd be a fool not to go.
The Premier League is the best league in the world, I don't see why it should happen more tbh.
In your opinion.
Being the best league in the world hasn't helped England win a major competition in the last decade has it?
Just because it's the best doesn't mean all English players should play in the Premiership exclusively. It only benefits those who play in the top 4 teams and exposed to regular Champions League football.
When is Derbyshire going to get the opportunity to play champions league football? Not if he stays at Blackburn. By being exposed to Champions League football, it will develop him as a player. He'll learn a new way of playing, to add to his experiences in England. It can only benefit him as a player. I see no negatives in this.
I don't see what this has to do with international football, England are shit, always have been and always will be, that cannot be helped.
I never said that there was negatives but there is no NEED for this to happen more.
They are 'shit' because the players are not exposed to different styles and tempos of playing. This would be improved by having players playing in different countries around europe.
