Your first football game is always an unforgettable experience. I remember my first match like it was yesterday. It was a European Championship qualifier between Wales and Albania at the old National Stadium, Cardiff Arms Park (where the Millennium Stadium is now), on September 7th, 1994 (okay, I had to look that bit up!)
Wales had narrowly missed out on qualification to the World Cup in 94, and I’d been very much into the whole campaign, and was gutted when we didn’t qualify. So with my old man seeing how keen I was to follow the national side, he decided to take me to a game. The weekend before the game we went to see the squad train (as you could in those days), and I got to meet some of the players, and got some autographs. I managed to get Barry Horne, Ian Rush, Ryan Giggs and Jeremy Goss’ (what a legend!!).
Then on the Wednesday night we headed off into town to watch the game. Wales ran out 2-0 winners that night. Chris Coleman opened the scoring with a header from a corner, and Ryan Giggs doubled the lead in the second half, with a trademark free kick.
I remember being sooo excited, as I’d finally seen my hero’s play in real life, as opposed to on TV. I was hooked. Since that first game, I haven’t missed too many of Wales’ home games in Cardiff. That’s something I’m proud of.
The first game I ever attended was Manchester United vs Southampton in the Treble Season of 98/99. Before that I had never even thought about going to a game, I just assumed it was more difficult than it actually was, but my dad surprised me by getting tickets after we became official fan club members. You apply for games and sometimes you get lucky and get tickets for the family stand. I was about 11 at the time.
I was so excited that I didn't care about the long walk to the stadium. My dad had parked the car at the Trafford Centre and we walked to Old Trafford after a meal in a restaurant there. Its quite a long walk for anybody who has done it, but I didn't care, I just wanted to see my heroes play. Beckham, Giggs, Cole, Yorke, Keane, Scholes etc. When I got there, I couldn't believe I was actually at Old Trafford for a game. It all seems so surreal when you actually go to a game for the first time after seeing so many games on TV, and it seemed weird watching a game with no commentary and not getting replays haha.
As for the game itself, we won, but only 2-1. Keane broke the deadlock in the second half with a deflected drive, before Dwight Yorke rounded the keeper to make it 2-0. Le Tissier headed in a stoppage time consolation goal for the Saints.

My First game was in March/April 1987, it was a game against Southampton at Maine Road, I went with my Dad and we sat in the North Stand(Block M, Row 11, Seat 7 which was the same as my future season ticket)
I can’t remember much about the game except that England legend Peter Shilton was the visitors goalkeeper, we lost the match 4-2, it was the period when a bunch of promising City youngsters were coming through including Paul Lake, David White, Paul Simpson, Andy Hinchcliffe, Ian Brightwell, Steve Redmond and Paul Mouldon, players who never reached their potential at City.
Well my first actually game was watching Stoke but if you mean for you're team I do remember the date well because it was 2 days after my 10th birthday home to Coventry and what a game to pick, we won 4-1 but don't ask me who scored them, I'd have to look that up.

First game I saw on television was the world cup, Netherlands and someone... First live game I saw was in Jamaica, Harberview vs Ocho Rios. Then I also saw a Barcelona match last year while visiting my father in Spain.
First live game i went to was Man Utd vs Chelsea at Old Trafford in 1996.
Chelsea won 2 - 1 and i believe it was Vialli who scored the winner.
Got to go to the game due to my dads friend at work having a couple of spare tickets and it was an enjoyable day out.
