Newcastle United have signed former Rangers forward Peter Lovenkrands until the end of the season.

The 28-year-old Dane has impressed on a two-week trial after being released by German side Schalke earlier this term.

Lovenkrands will wear the number 24 shirt and could start at Manchester City in the Premier League next week.

"I'm delighted to sign a deal until the end of the season. I now just can't wait for my debut," Lovenkrands told the club's website.
For a weak Newcastle team this is a decent to good signing, we'll see how he does.

Decent signing for sure. They needed to get someone win. I don't see them going down, but I may be wrong. Very difficult to predict this year.
