Just think about it. McMurphy strangling Nurse Ratched in black in white, except for her coughing up blood in bright red to the music of The Bee Gees' - Staying Alive.

“When I get this feeling down below
I'm ready to explode
We drop like dominoes
Stimulate my frontal lobe”
Seriously? Got any details on it like cast, director, etc?

Variety reports that CineTel Films, a longtime supplier of horror and action fare for the video market, will produce and theatrically release a remake of the notorious shocker I SPIT ON YOUR GRAVE. The original film, written and directed by Meir Zarchi, was initially released in 1978 as DAY OF THE WOMAN. It wasn't until distributor Jerry Gross retitled and reissued the movie a couple of years later that it won infamy and critical condemnation for its graphic depiction of a city woman (Camille Keaton) who is brutally raped by a gang of men during a country vacation, and then takes bloody revenge on them. Zarchi will serve as an executive producer on the redux, with Paul Hertzberg and Lisa Hansen producing.
The duo are currently taking pitches from scriptwriters on how to update the film, and are actually aiming to make the new version more shocking than the original, which got an X rating at the time but was marketed as an R without cuts. "After seeing what was done with an R rating on films like SAW and HOSTEL," Hertzberg tells the trade, "we think we can modernize this story, be competitive with what this marketplace expects and not have to aim for an NC-17 or X rating." Roger Ebert, who along with Gene Siskel was one of the first film's most outspoken critics, told Variety simply that he hopes the new SPIT is a better movie. —Michael Gingold

While attending Fango’s recent East Coast Weekend of Horrors, FX artist/filmmaker Ryan Nicholson (pictured) chatted with us about the run of Sci Fi Channel movies he’s been working on (look for more on those in the near future), as well as a potential directing gig he’s hoping they might lead to. Some of those cable creepers are being produced by the Cinetel company, and Nicholson tells Fango, “The people there are great to work with, and they’re doing the I SPIT ON YOUR GRAVE remake [as we first reported here]. I’m trying to talk to them about it. I was looking on the call sheet for [Sci Fi’s] TROGLODYTE, and it’s produced by Lisa Hansen from Cinetel, and I had read on the Fango site that they had acquired those rights.”
The company has vowed to do a redux even more shocking than Meir Zarchi’s original, in which Camille Keaton plays a woman who metes out gory payback against a group of men who have raped her. That fits right in line with Nicholson’s grue-centric filmmaking approach; his new movie GUTTERBALLS also revolves around revenge for a sexual assault. “I was actually trying to talk to Meir Zarchi way back when about acquiring an option to do I SPIT ON YOUR GRAVE,” he reveals. “But they wanted like $250,000 just for an option, and then if the movie was made it would be another $2 million. It was way too much money at the time, but now that they’re doing it, I contacted Cinetel and told them, ‘I have a story I pitched to Zarchi, he liked it way back when,’ etc., so we’ll see what happens.” Keep your eyes here for any updates, and for more info on other films Nicholson is working on, both as a director and FX creator. —Michael Gingold
Frankly, I wasn't even sure how they could do a Last House on the Left remake, let alone an I Spit on Your Grave remake in this PC world.

lol I was thinking who the fuck would remake it, I can't see it making much money at box office. Then again if something like Hostel which just a glorified snuff film can be sucessful...
