The Office (US) Series Discussion

I'm loving this show at the minute, finished season two last night, and eager to start the third.

I'm a huge fan of the UK version, it's one of the greatest sitcoms ever in my eyes, and took the wise decision to bow out on top before it started to go stale (and before Gervais' personality outside the show become more annoying). That said, I think there's a couple of thing the US version does better, I much prefer the long drawn out Pam/Jim storyline compared to the Dawn/Tim storyline which was done and dusted in 13 episodes, and I think there's stronger characters outside of the main cast of four/five. I guess when you're running seasons that have 20+ episodes in them, it's easier to find time for that character development.

I LOVE the Office. I loved it all the way until Michael left. haven't watched any since, but I'm sure they're not bad.

I stopped watching the Office a little before Michael left. It's not so much that the show is bad, but rather they've hit the wall in creativity. The show should have just ended with Jim and Pam's wedding. That was always the main storyline for me. They've already told the story, now they're just trying to stretch it out as long as they can.

Sometimes it's nice when a show bows out at the right moment. Sure, we'll miss out on seeing more of our favorite characters, but you won't have to watch your show lower their quality solely to keep the show running.

I actually think this season has been really good. Better than last year in fact.

Have to agree. The comedy has been much better and dwight is a strong character without michael.

Totally agree Flames. Dwight being the focus with Jim has really made the show much more fun. Dwight is freaking off the wall. Love it.

Yeah. Like i keep saying, the prank jim pulled on dwight at the hotel reminds me of the first few seasons of the office when it was at it's funniest. It was just so out there and played out so perfect that it just felt like it was the entire episode even though it was just the intro. Jim and Dwight can carry the show by themselves as long as they have their rivalry/feud going. There is always something new they can do with them that it never gets old.

Dwight is hilarious. He needs to be the focus of more shows.

They could've done so much more with Jim/Cathy storyline, but they killed. Cathy's awful but Jim hasn't been in a major story for a few seasons.

Pumped for new episode tonight.
