Studio insiders are worried that the upcoming $125 million movie 'The Da Vinci Code' will turn movie goers off because of Tom Hanks hair do. His makeover was an attempt to look intelligent for the film, but his new look caused a stir during the movie trailer.
Honestly, is his hair really a reason for concern? We all know he isn't a spring chicken anymore, but what more can you do with his head of hair? He definatley has changed, but it's not just his hair.

Who the hell would decide not to go to a movie because of the lead actors hairstyle? I would think people would be more concerned about whether the studio remained faitful to the book(since I for one hate when they change things when turning a book into a movie).
This will be a big blockbuster and the only thing that could hurt it is the fact that "X-Men: The Last Stand" comes out the same month.

I dont understand though why he got the lead. Langdon is supposed to be a fairly youngish athletic professor with a swimmers body - Tom Hanks was not what came to mind when I read that the first time! lol

Russel Crowe was apparently their first choice.
He turned it down which is when they offered it to Hanks.
Neither one of them fit the mold you describe though. lol
