Britney's Baby Fractures Skull

Thank God it wasn't the rapping that did the little kid in. Sean had taken a tumble out of his high chair, and had suffered a skull fracture. Let me get this straight, a week after the tyke fell from his high chair his parents took him to the hospital. Let's get the parents enrolled in Parenting 101. If the baby falls on his head, you might want to take him to the hospital.

On April 7, when Britney Spears and Kevin Federline realized that their baby, Sean Preston, had been sleeping more than usual, panic bells went off. Just six days earlier, the 7-month-old had taken a major fall from his high chair, a tumble that had his parents worried that he might have been critically injured.

They had every right to fret. After rushing Sean to a nearby hospital, they discovered he had a minor skull fracture (sometimes called a "scalp fracture" in babies), and a blood clot. And the doctors weren't the only ones to take notice! The next day, the Department of Children and Family Services began looking into the incident.

The Spears-Federline clan escaped disaster, but not their obligation to explain themselves to the authorities. On April 8, L.A. sheriff's deputies arrived at Britney's Malibu home to investigate a child-abuse claim against Britney and Kevin in relation to the head injury. Such an investigation isn't unusual. According to California law, whenever a baby is brought into the hospital with a serious injury, the Department of Children and Family Services is alerted.

I nominate these two for worst parents of the year based on what i've seen so far.

That's some messed up parenting, but from what I've seen they have enough trouble just trying to be regular humans let alone being responsible for somebody else.

I wish they'd just turn the kid over to Brit's parents and be done with it. This is a joke.

You'd be so surprised at how many kids sustain head injuries and their parents are reluctant to take them to A&E. I have at least 2 calls like this a night when I'm in work.

One someone phoned in and said their kid fell out of the can and smacked it's head on the floor (I presume the car was stationary). When I told them it would be best if they took the child to A&E they sort of sighed and said okay if we have to...

Funny Story about baby head injuries.

Game 4 of the 2004 World Series.

Red Sox two innings away from winning their first World Series in 86 years.

My friend's 6 month old baby falls down the hardwood stairs (at least 15 full steps) banging his head off each other stair on the way down. Needless to say he was screaming like a little baby who had just fallen down a flight of stairs. So, the mother of the baby and wife of my friend is insisting that they take him to the hospital. He looked at me with more fear in his eyes than when he saw the kid fall down the stairs. He, of course, didn't want to miss THE FUCKING RED SOX WINNING THE WORLD SERIES. So, after about ten minutes of arguing about what to do, and the baby finally shut up he was able to convince his wife that they didn't need to go to the hospital.

The baby is fine and he got to see the Red Sox win the World Series that night. I remember thinking "what the fuck, why isn't he taking his kid to the friggin' hospital" but then also thinking "shit, I would be really pissed if I were him and I missed the end of this game".

Good times.

There was a follow up story to this "accident" this morning that basically said the results of the investigation were that the nanny attempted to pick up the baby and the defective high chair cracked causing the baby to fall on it's head.

I smell a pay off from Mommy and Daddy Spears in there somewhere.
