Mischa Barton to leave the OC?

'The O.C' beauty Mischa Barton is allegedly trying to get fired from the hit show by pulling a host of sickies.

The 20-year-old star has allegedly been worried about the show's spiralling ratings and is concerned about being typecast as a teen brat.

According to reports, Mischa has been frequently calling in sick or arriving late to the set much to the displeasure of her bosses.

A source told America's New York Post newspaper: "She's definitely flirting with leaving the show. But the real problem now is that she isn't taking her work seriously."

The brunette's actions are said to be angering the rest of the cast and crew who are all sick of her poor attitude, tardiness and lack of commitment.

Barton has played pampered princess Marissa Cooper on the popular programme since it first aired in 2003.

In recent months, 'The O.C.', which also stars Benjamin McKenzie, Adam Brody and Rachel Bilson, has seen its ratings drop from nearly 10 million viewers its first season to around 5.4 million.

Warner Bros., who produce the series, have so far refused to comment on the reports.

A spokesman for the company said: "We don't comment on rumour or speculation."

Yeah, I have never seen this show, but people seem to deem it this generations 90210, so I can see the appeal I suppose as pretty much everyone my age watched 90210 every week no matter how freaking stupid it got.

Doing that though isnt going to get you a good reputation for your next job - who wants to hire a whiny 'princess' who is continually late for work and has tantrums when things dont go her way!

I liked the first few episodes of the OC, but thats it. If she gets fired from that show, where is she going to go????? It's not like she a great actress and shit...the truth is, that if she loses her OC gig, she will dissapear forever.
