GH4 to strike back at Rock Band

According to various forums around the web, the new Game Informer has GH4 as its cover story, and shares some details.

*GH4 will (Like Rock Band) include all 4 instruments (Bass,Guitar, Drums, Vox)
There is scanned pictures from the GI mag of the nw GH drumset, and tbh it looks pretty nice. It has 3 drumpads, and two cymbal pads that come up above the drums like a real set. Those 5 pads plus the bass pedal means there will be 6 colors as ooposed to the normal 5 RB's drums use, as well as guitar on both games.

(Unless the two cymbol pads share a color, meaning you hit which ever cymbol you feel like)

GH spokesmen said in the article they wanted to makt their drums quieter then their competitors. For anyone who has ever played Rock Band knows, the drums are epic. But they are noisy.

*The new guitar will have some type of input that will "Change the way you play GH" according to deveolpers. As to details on what that means we dont know.

*They have confirmed Van Halen, Sublime, Linkin Park and The Eagles will all have songs in the game, as will At The Drive In and Def Leppard.

*there will be a "Create a song" feature, which wont include vocals. But will rival Apple's Garage Band software as far as allowing you to create and track music through your system, with hundreds of effects and such.

Kind of. But now that its proven it can sell, why not market the whole damn band?

THe only thing I dont like, is im prob the biggest fan on this site of these music games, and now what, im going to ahve to buy ANOTHER GH bundle, so I can now have 4 toy guitars, 2 drumsets, and 2 Mics?

Where the fuck am I supposed to keep all that shit

I think it's a good idea for them to do it. Obviously Rock Band was a step ahead when they made their game, so Guitar Hero is just going to improve on that.

Sounds great. I've always hated how Guitar Hero only had the guitar. I can't wait for the release.

I am looking forward to it... but I still only care about the Guitar/Bass so I will most likely only buy the game as I will with Rock Band.

Carbon, Im a dedicated Plastic guitarist myself, but the fuckin drums own.

My only issue, is hopefully Neversoft stops overcharting songs. Its really annoying when your playing guitar one second, and then keyboards, and other instruments.

For instance I watched the YT clips of the new Muse DLC, and they have you playing a drum part on the guitar during Stockholm Syndrome. I get you want to make it hard, but seriously.

Lol... I don't have the room for the drums otherwise I would have them for Rockband.

It is said I have played more on a plastic guitar then any of my real guitars in like the past year though.

THe drums are kick ass. I hope they are quieter then the RB set, as much as I love them, it does get annoying that you have to have your TV volume jacked up to drownd out the "dink dink dink" of the sticks hitting the plastic.

Some people have went out and bought silencer pads, but meh.

Oh one more tidbit on those new GH drums, apparantley they are supposed to be "velocity sensitive" so I guess if you hit it harde or softer it makes a difference, not sure how that will reflect in charting however.
