To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 20 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

Release Date: January 16, 2009
Studio: Lionsgate
Director: Patrick Lussier
Screenwriter: Zane Smith
Starring: Jensen Ackles, Jaime King, Kerr Smith, Betsey Rue, Edi Gathegi, Tom Atkins, Kevin Tighe, Megan Boone
Genre: Horror
MPAA Rating: R (for graphic brutal horror violence and grisly images throughout, some strong sexuality, graphic nudity and language)
Official Website: MyBloodyValentinein3D.com
Plot Summary: Ten years ago, a tragedy changed the town of Harmony forever. Tom Hanniger, an inexperienced coal miner, caused an accident in the tunnels that trapped and killed five men and sent the only survivor, Harry Warden, into a permanent coma. But Harry Warden wanted revenge. Exactly one year later, on Valentine's Day, he woke up...and brutally murdered twenty-two people with a pickaxe before being killed.

Ten years later, Tom Hanniger returns to Harmony on Valentine's Day, still haunted by the deaths he caused. Struggling to make amends with his past, he grapples with unresolved feelings for his ex-girlfriend, Sarah, who is now married to his best friend, Axel, the town sheriff. But tonight, after years of peace, something from Harmony's dark past has returned. Wearing a miner's mask and armed with a pickaxe, an unstoppable killer is on the loose. And as his footsteps come ever closer, Tom, Sarah and Axel realize in terror that it just might be Harry Warden who's come back to claim them...

Presented in stunningly real, cutting edge 3D projection, "My Bloody Valentine 3D" stars Jensen Ackles (TV's "Smallville" and "Supernatural"), Jaime King ("The Spirit," "Sin City") and Kerr Smith ("Final Destination," "Dawson's Creek"). A remake of the 1981 horror classic, "My Bloody Valentine 3D" is directed by Patrick Lussier and produced by Jack Murray.

Re: My Bloody Valentine 3D [January 16, 2009]

So I went and saw this Friday night... The movie wasn't great but it wasn't bad. It's kinda what you expect from the genre now days. The 3-d effect really helped the movie out entertainment wise. When something went flying towards you it would make you jump. I know every time it happened everyone in the theater enjoyed it. Everybody in the theater loved the effects needless to say. It had its good moments and bad moments. Lots of people being mindlessly murdered lots of gore and a pretty good plot twist in the end. Overall it wasn't the best I have seen but it wasn't the worst. It has potential. It is also pretty cool to be looking down at the barrel of a gun in 3-d.

The glasses weren't comfortable but hopefully they fix this since I seen a couple previews for more movies in 3-d.

Re: My Bloody Valentine 3D [January 16, 2009]

I mean, alone it being 3D it can't really be bad. A horror movie is a movie you want to jump at. It's fairly easy to get someone to jump when a movie pretty much puts them into the movie. The plot seemed fair and with horror movies these days that is all you can really suspect. I think the fact that it's 3D will make up for anything in the movie. Hell, I would just see it for the 3D effect of the movie, the plot isn't really what the main sell of this movie is anyhow. Should be good, I'll have to wait for it to come on DVD with a pair of 3D glasses.

Re: My Bloody Valentine 3D [January 16, 2009]

Based on the trailers, it looks like yet another forgettable mainstream horror movie. Shame really, the original was one of the better slashers of the '80's.
