Theres a certain thing I like to call "youtube"; but If you want to listen to proper metal, download yourself some Metallica, Iron Maiden,Slayer, Slipknot,Trivium, Megadeth, Machinehead etc.

Wow, Dr. Pr0xy with the epic fail.

Did you miss the part where Kaji said "Bands I haven't heard of" I'm guessing he may be somewhat new to the genre, but I'm almost absolutely certain everyone and their mother has heard of those bands. Reading comprehension classes are in order, I do believe.

As for the OP, the only real nu metal I listen to is (hed) PE, but anything after the Blackout EP from them is pretty mehtastic.

It would be helpful to know a bit about what you do know and listen to. I've been getting into the likes of Killswitch Engage and In Flames lately myself.

I know, agree'd with big papa, are you just looking into getting into metal, or are you a metal head who wants to listen to new bands?

lulz @ "some good Nu-Metal". That's like an oxymoron.

Ill Niño and 40 Below Summer are the only Nu-Metal I listen to. The previously mentioned (həd) p.e. is decent, I suppose (I hate the name though).

Gothic Metal: idk, Darkwell? Epica? Xandria? Every other Gothic Metal band I can think of is already fairly well-known.

And I've got no idea what you mean by heavy metal. That classification is something different for pretty much everyone.
