I'm not sure if CBS gave "Love Monkey" the It's-not-you-it's-me speech, but we do know that just a few days before Valentine's Day, the network has broken things off with the show.
After just three episodes, none of which brought very strong ratings, "Love Monkey" has been pulled from the schedule. CBS is officially saying the dramedy is "on hiatus," but the network currently has no plans for its return.
Although it drew largely positive reviews, the show, based on a book of the same name by Kyle Smith, struggled to find an audience against the likes of "Law & Order: SVU" and "Boston Legal" on Tuesday nights. It debuted to about 8.6 million viewers on Jan. 17 but fell off in each of its subsequent two airings, dropping to a low of 6.2 million this week.

I hate how networks don't give shows a chance, is 6.2 million viewers really that bad?
I've never seen this show, so I won't miss it.

Now I will be REALLY pissed if they can my other new show I am watching. In Justice.
Love Monkey was definetly in a not so great time slot, but why not move it to a time like Wednesday at 10 or something. Have it on right after a popular show.
Something......seriously they want us to give new shows a watch but yet they wont allow us to get into them because they just take them off the air.
Didn't see it but I like the actor - the guy from Ed. But really now, I knew this show was doomed the first time I heard the title Love Monkey. The title alone did this show in and nothing more.

Agreed - the title sucks. I loved "Ed" and love Tom Cavanaugh but I never got around to watching this even though I had good intentions and wanted to.
You have to wonder why networks go to the expense of producing these shows if they're going to yank them so soon - at least move them around to see if they have an audience somewhere.
Probably even Seinfeld would be gone early these days....

I agree about all points except the first one. I liked the name Love Monkey. It was certainly easy to recall.
Easy to recall, yes, but it's just so....yuck. To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 20 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.
Maybe it would make more sense if I had actually seen the show.
