Gwen & Venom Confirmed For Spidey 3
AICN first dropped the scoop last night and both Variety and Hollywood Reporter confirmed it this morning with some added nuggets; Bryce Dallas Howard has signed on to star in SPIDER-MAN 3 as Gwen Stacy.

Kinda ironic that they signed a redhead to play a blonde and signed a blonde (Kirsten Dunst) to play a redhead, huh? Hopefully I don't need to explain to you the Gwen Stacy storyline but if I do, think basically the entire first movie except swap Mary Jane with Gwen and kill her off at the end.

The Hollywood Reporter reports that Gwen will be the third part of a love triangle in the film and, perhaps more importantly, will survive. More SPIDER-MAN 3 news was scooped this morning with Variety's Michael Fleming confirming that Topher Grace is indeed starring as Venom.

So whaddya think? It'll be interesting to see how they fit Gwen into the current film mythology and how all these characters fit together. Can't wait until we start seeing some pics from this film!

The way Gwen Stacie is killed off is fantastic. It's one of the few times they actually take into account the physics of Spiderman catching someone as they fall, and the tremendous amount of damage that would do to the body.

I still don't like the idea of Topher Grace playing Venom, Eddie Brock is supposed to be pretty ripped and Topher is too small for it IMO unless he seriously hits the gym a lot.

I can't stand Kirsten Dunst. She is the reason I haven't seen either Spiderman movie yet.

Maybe this new girl will kill her, that would be wonderful.

Topher Grace is awful for Venom. Since they are changing the character to something he isn't in the comic then they should have changed him to Michael Clark Duncan :mello:

I guess I really shouldn't be surprised after they totally messes up the Kingpin in Daredevil. I just hate when moviemakers change something from the source material when they make the movie, anybody who has seen video game based movies(especially SMB) knows what i'm talking about.

Not as bad as what they are doing to DOA. I mean they are changing it into Charlies Angels while having Kasumi and Ayane teaming up when they are rivals in the games
