The Lizard's Powers:

In reptilian form, Conners possessed superhuman strength and speed, as well as claws useful for both clinging to walls and fighting. His reptilian persona was distinct from his human identity and was capable of only the most rudimentary speech.

The Scarecrow's Powers:

The Scarecrow has weaponized fear itself in the form of an atomized gas mixing adreno-cortico secretions and hallucinogenic compounds of his own concoction. When inhaled, the gas makes a victim's worst fears frighteningly real. Additionally, the scarecrow purports to be a master of the "Crane style of violent dancing", a martial art suited to his gangly frame.

Anything but the Present

America has no now. We're reluctant to acknowledge the present. It's too embarrassing.

Instead, we reach into the past. Our culture is composed of sequels, reruns, remakes, revivals, reissues, rereleases, re-creations, reenactments, adaptations, anniversaries, memorabilia, oldies radio, and nostalgia record collections. World War II has been refought on television so many times, the Germans and Japanese are now drawing residuals.

Of course, being essentially out of shit, we sometiems feel the need to dress up this past preoccupation, as with pathetic references to reruns as "encore presentations".
