UK, May 16, 2008 - Buzz on the Net is that Sony has been working Zodiac scribe James Vanderbilt like a proverbial dog on Spider-Man 4, with the scripter now having completed a working draft of the superhero sequel.

Cinnematical.com have reported the news, and, so their source claims: "The story arc has encompassed two films, making Spider-Man 5 shootable at the same time. The studio saw dollar signs and is in the process of reworking his deal to snatch up the story arc."

Interesting news indeed. At present it seems none of this is confirmed, and the studio certainly has a job gathering up the likes of Toby Maguire, Kirstin Dunst and Sam Raimi (if he chooses to don the directorial megaphone once again) together for a back-to-back shooting schedule.

well.. it's probably eventually going to happen. There's too much money in the franchise. I'd like to see them get a new cast though.. This one has run its course. They can just pick up somewhere after the introduction of Venom.

Well, Venoms kind of a dead end with the Symbiote being destroyed at the end of Spiderman 3, Unless you mean completly reintroducing the storyline, which I wouldn't be against.

I just hope they smarten up and relise you can jam almost 3 films worth of storylines into one film.

I just hope they're alot better than the piece of garbage #3 was.

I wouldn't really want to see a new cast though, I hate when film series change casts.

Yea same, I wouldn't want to see a new cast...I wish they would have had Venom in a lot more action in the 3rd movie...I heard they are going to introduce Carnage in the upcoming movie.

4th and 5th movie is said to be the Lizard followed by Carnage.

It's also suspected to be darker in tone and content

yeah i'm a huge fan of carnage, would be a nice way to end the movies, as far as lizardman goes.. i don't really know, but however, i do know the movies wont be the same without Harry
