Marvel's Secret Invasion

I don't really follow comics nearly as much as I used to but I like to read their big events from time to time and I get a big deal at the local comic book store.. long story... The writing is a lot better and more intelligent, more mature these days than when I was a kid. So.. anyway, this Summer Marvel is running the Secret Invasion which is based on an infiltration by the alien race the Skrulls on to earth. they are able to shape shift and therefore, can replace super heroes by appearance.. so the whole thing is about who can you trust?

I don't want to give much away, but the first issue is out and we've already learned of a couple skrulls who were posing as people within the Marvel Universe..

Anyone follow?

i'm actually downloading issue 1 and 2 as we speak. i have been slacking on my comic reading in the last month so im catching up........also i read that the series KICK-ASS is good. its about a guy in modern times that reads comics and decides to be a super hero but he has no powers and im assuming he prolly just gets dominated

Yeah, I read the first issue of this and also the new Ms. Marvel and I loved both of them. I like how far back they are going with this story.. the continuity is amazing. Some Skrulls that are revealed could be from as far back as a few years ago or more..

I used to LOVE comic books. It's not that I hate them now, it's just not been on my radar of current hobbies. Although, since you gave us the outline of this new story they are running over the summer, it sounds REALLY interesting.

The only times now I really get into comics (as I can't stand how they have messed up long running storylines of old and are "re-birthing" heroes I have loved so much) are when special stories like this come out. I loved the X-Men storyline they ran many years back against a villian named OnSlaught. And when they ran the DC vs. Marvel min-series, I really got into that.

So, excuse my complete airheaded-ness, but....is Secret Invasion something I will be able to find at a store? Because I just can't get into reading them online...comics are meant to be held!

yeah u can, i believe issues 1 and 2 are in ur local comic book store.

They'll be right there. Just ask. There are many spin-off issues that will coincide with the main book.. but if you just want the main book, it's an 8-part series.

i lied, i found out issue 1 just came out this month so issue 2 of this won't be out till May
