"Sci Fi Heaven" recently dropped a rumor that Tom Hanks may be looking to star in the rumored STAR TREK sequel.
The current script making the rounds, titled STAR TREK XI: THE BEGINNING, was written by Erik Jendresen, who has previously collaborated with Hanks on a teleplay for the HBO and Hanks-produced mini-series BAND OF BROTHERS.
I would assume this would be a new captain and a whole new crew.

If I recall, this is supposed to take place between TOS and TNG, right? Or was it between Enterprise and TOS? It was one of those two.
If this is true then I have to say i'm pretty surprised, but it would help the movie do better at the box office after Star Trek: Nemesis bombed(of coarse it came out about a week before LOTR so it didn't stand much of a chance.
