I've been putting off watching this movie for a long time now. I've had it several times on netflix, and kept ignoring it. So I finally sat down, and caught this flick. Right away I really liked the foreign scene. I enjoy movies set outside of America, just seems more badass than your typical boring American flick. I also enjoyed the fact it had an older theme to it. These new movies are too fucking updated, and I can't stand how annoying it is seeing product placement. Anyway, enough with that rant. Getting into the first 20 minutes you see the main three characters, a ton of nudity, and a lot of drinking. Okay sounds good so far. So lets jump ahead a litte. We find out that there is a hostel located in Slavika whatever I dont fucking know the name. This is where it's difficult, I dont want to give too much away so I wont speak too much on it. Lets just say there's a lot of shit that's hard to stomache, and you'll be more grossed out than scared. There are several girls in this movie who are super hot. The main guy character is pretty cool, and you start to see the development of his character by the end of the movie. The premise of the movie is pretty interesting, and I must say I enjoyed this movie very much. Overall I would recommend this movie to anyone who's into crazy shit.

Well after taking in the original, I had to watch the sequal. In most cases for me the sequal never really equals the first one. But honestly I was suprised by this. First of all they centered this movie around girls instead of guys this time. Already more intriguing haha. Another weird thing I noticed is on the netflix information it says that the same guy is starring in the second one. You soon find out though that he is only in about 5 minutes of this movie. Weird how they explain information. So aside from that there are a few automatics in this series. Firstly that they'll be smoking hot chicks, secondly that there will be insane murders that are just fuckin crazy. Thirdly a gritty, cool feel about it that only Eli Roth can create. Guy has had some pretty cool movies. Both the Hostel ones, Cabin Fever etc. I also liked how in this one it really felt exactly like the first one. I hate when they try to get away from the original and end up going way too far off base. Seeing the chick from Roseann naked too was pretty fucked up. Didn't even realize she was a lesbian. Tangents are our friend here on reviewthymovie.com dont worry. Lauren German has to be one of the best looking people in Hollywood as well. Very hot. So there you go. The plot was pretty decent, lots of gore. If you liked the first of the series, definitely watch this one. Seeing the perspective of the killers is pretty cool too. Lets you see a whole new angle to it. Explains a lot about the tattoos etc. Pretty cool on plot explanation.

Thanks for the reviews. I liked the first one.. they didn't do much in the way of character development but the whole underground shit that was going on was pretty insane but not far fetched at all. Some have complained that the lead characters were unlikeable and hard to root for but please.. just like wrestling.. the goody goody people are gone. Nobody in this country is goody anymore. We all have our faults. It added more realism to me.

I haven't seen the 2nd one, heard it was bad.. but I might check it out.

I'm not into Torture films and no offense to anyone who likes him but Eli Roth strikes me as a bit of a dick.

His recent tirades in the media about low film sales and how critics were ruining his movies turned me off of his work.

He came across as a huge baby.

The first one was actually a fairly decent movie; there was actually a plot that made sense. I had to turn it off though once I saw the girl with the eye ball hanging off of her face. I couldn't take anymore.
