House - What am I missing?

I have never seen a single episode.

I generally speaking can't stand hospital shows. The only one I have ever liked is Grey's. I have also never seen a episode of ER either.

Why should I watch this show? Tell me now or Hugh Laurie gets one in the head.

OMG no, it's witty humor, not "Ooooh, coming, I get it!" humor. The way he puts everybody done, the sexual humor, the way he just bends and breaks the rules and laws to heal or fix a patient. And the twists in the story, you never EVER know what the real problem or solution is. Or maybe I'm just to simple to get it ahead of time

I've loved this show since season 1. If you're going to start watching the show though, I'd suggest getting the first season on DVD and starting from the beginning.

House has such a great banter with his team, 3 diagnosticians. There's Dr. Chase, the British guy, Dr. Cameron, the cute girl who has a crush on Dr. House, and Dr. Foreman, the black doctor who doesn't like House and doesn't want to become him.

The first season revolves around getting to know the cast, the second season shows dissension in the team and House struggles with his injury, while the third takes a different route completely in regards to his team.

The first season has a great story arc with "Vogler", the new hospital president who dislikes House and tries to get him to conform to the hospital rules (ie: wearing a lab coat and being nice to patients). The third season has a great story arc with a cop who House pisses off. The cop tries to get House fired, and even worse, put in jail.

The patients and cases in the show are usually pretty extraordinary, and House and his team must usually "race against the clock" to diagnose the patient and treat him in time. The stories that intertwine between House and his 3 employees, along with his hot boss Dr. Lisa Cuddy, and his friend the oncologist Dr. James Wilson, keep the story always exciting and fresh.

If by the third show, you don't find it enjoyable, then forget it you are a lost cause.

I'm only half way through the opening season but this is pretty fine.

You guys should get more English actors over there like Mr Laurie pretending to be yankee doodle dandys.

I have seen a couple of episodes and can't stand it. Every week it's a new incurable illness. Shit, how many times can you rehash this? Then he goes around, throws out some whitty dialogue. Meh. Nip/Tuck = better. First 4 season of Scrubs = better.

Yes, Nip/Tuck is another EXCELLENT show. Not sure which one of the two I like more though.
