So right now, I'm a sap I admit it, The woman and I are in a huge Fight and it's beginning to bug me. I busted out some sad tunes. Wondering if anyone had any suggestions. Here are mine.
Honorable Mention: The Shore by Mashlin, Hurt by Johnny Cash, Concrete Angel by Martina McBride
5. Do Heaven - DJ Sammy(feat. Yanou) Basically just her demeanor throughout the entire song, it's just depressing to me.The whole reminiscing thing just gets to me.
4. Tears In Heaven - Eric Clapton Had I been alive when it happened, I'm sure it would rank higher, but how sad is it that he lost his five year old son. If that doesn't even phase you, wow.
3. I'll Be Missing You - Puff Daddy and Faith Evans I was young, but I remember when BIGGIE died. This song can also be grouped in with I Miss You by Aaliyah, I remember when she died also.
2. Whiskey Lullaby - Braid Paisley and Allison Krauss Very cliche especially for my area. Most people around here drink far to much myself included. I'm pretty sure alcohol will somehow contribute to my death.
1. Hallelujah - Jeff Buckley Fuck I first heard this song, and I hate his voice, I honestly think it's god awful, but man, those are just some lyrics that sting
So anyway, what are your thoughts?

5. O Death - Ralph Stanley
A classic bluegrass song about having to face death, and wanting to live longer.
4. He Stopped Loving Her Today - George Jones
About a man who loved a woman who didn't love him back. He spent his whole life loving her and never got over her until he died.
3. Cats In The Cradle - Harry Chapin
About a man who focuses on his job too much and doesn't spend enough time with his son. After he retired he wants to spend time with his now grown son, but his son now has a job and has no time to spend with his dad. Just goes to show how your perspectives should rank. Always make time for your family...while you can.
2. Tears In Heaven - Eric Clapton
This was written about his young son who fell off of a balcony and died. A very emotional song.
1. Go Rest High On That Mountain - Vince Gill.
This was written for Bill Monroe after his death.

Tears in Heaven is certainly a very sad and emotional song.
Most of the music I listen to cant really be classified as "sad" (more like "angry"), so I dont really have many to contribute. Somebody mentioned Aaliyah's "I Miss You", and I remember watching that video and seeing all her friends and family singing in the video, with video clips of her interspersed...it was pretty sad.
Hmm...I'm trying to think of others, but I'm drawing a blank.

Two things:
One, he didn't write the song. If you hate his voice, you can easily find a version of Leonard Cohen's original, or even one of the other hundred covers that are out there.
Two, if you hate Jeff Buckley's voice, you are simply not human.
