Mine are (in no order):
Shawshank Redemption - my #1 of all time and I will watch it every single time it is on.
The Usual Suspects - just a great flick
Godfather 1 and 2 - classics. #3 sucks
Goodfellas and/or Raging Bull - hard to argue with these
Pan's Labyrinth - the best new movie to come along IMO in a decade.

1. Heat
2. Spider-Man
3. Monsters Inc.
4. Batman (1989 Tim Burton Original)
5. The Prophecy - Part 1
NOW we have something to talk about.
I agree that Heat is a great movie, but just knowing that Pacino and Di Niro were NEVER in the same room at any time during filming, INCLUDING THE DINER scene when it looks like they are sitting together (each part was filmed separately and then put together) knocks it down a notch for me. ALSO, a little known fact is that Keanu Reeves was supposed to play Val Kilmer's role. Imagine if that crap would have happened. Thank goodness it did not and Kilmer filmed Heat and Batman at the same time.
The first Spider Man was excellent, that I will agree, but the cheesy masks for the Green Goblin always was a turn off for me
Monsters Inc is a great film
Batman, you and I will have to disagree. I think the recent movie with C. Bale is far superior and captures the tortured Dark Knight better then the original one did. Sure Burton's sets were incredible and imaginative, but does that make it a better movie? Michael Keaton as Batman???? he did a good job, but not in Bale's league IMO.
Finally The Prophacy, lol. One of my favorites and who doesn't love a good Walken!!!!!
Good list my friend.

1. The Empire Strikes Back
2. When Harry Met Sally
3. Breakfast at Tiffany's
4. Forrest Gump
5. The Lion King
Another GREAT LIST.
I always have Forrest Gump in my top 10. it is a groundbreaking movie that is almost unmatched with the effects and scope of the film.
I am not a huge Star Wars fan, so I will not comment on that one. I liked the movies, but they are not in my top Sci Fi flicks
When Harry met Sally is the classic "chick flick". One question. Do you like it more then Sleepless in Seattle or Pretty Woman in the same genre?

For me Heat was great for the dialouge and the character interaction. I loved it from start to finish. Pacino was the man in that movie. "Cause she's got a great ASS! And your head is all the way up it!"
I am a big Spider-Man geek and I waited for years to see that first film. It was worth the wait in many respects for me as they nailed the heart of the character right dead on. Green Goblin was a minor detail but I thought the overall acting of Dafoe overshawdoing the costume. He brought Osbourne to life.
Batman was a sentimental fav because I was just into it heavily when I was in my teens. For me that movie was all about Nicholsons Joker and not Bats. Yes I thought Begins overall was a better film and more centered on Bats but overall the first film holds a special place for me just because of the memories.
Monsters Inc was just a fav of my familys. I think i've seen it so many times it stuck in my mind.
Prophecy was great in the original. Most hated it but I thought it was highly entertaining. Granted they did way too many sequels but Walken was eating up the scenery in the original.
"You know how you got that dent in your top lip?"
"Way back before you were born....I told you a secret....and I point my finger right there and said SHHHH!"

Hi Dakstang
300 is a good flick, but is it honestly better then Gladiator??
The Goonies is classic fun
I am not a big Lord of the Rings or H Potter fan, so hard for me to comment on these. I have seen them, but not big fan. I will agree that the "scope" of The Lord of the Rings was incredible.
Pirates of the Caribbean to me is one of the most overrated films in the past half century. The movies are boring to me and I have no earthly idea how kids sit through 20 minutes of the movies. Depp is just ridiculous to me.. Just my opinion.

I will agree that until Bale played Batman, Toby was THE BEST superhero casting. He looks, sounds and acts like the comic book character..

I have never saw Gladiator.
I loved the whole theme of Pirates of the Caribbean. I loved the scenery and the music was great.
I have never really watched a movie and been like "That movie is one of my favorite movies ever!" I just went with the ones that I really got into and really enjoyed watching. Those are the ones that I came up with.
